I seriously hope CCPs RMT enforcement department is looking hard at that guy who lost the Loki in Rens' account.

Yeah, and you also want to "investigate" Tyrax Thorrix (or what was his exact name spelling) because he lost countless unique or very rare ships worth more than a couple of dozens of bilions, Chribba for mining in a Dreadnought in highsec, and the list could go on... like, say, Entity for having just about every item in the game (including T2 BPOs), with multiple officer modules... and so on and so forth.
Some people just DO have a truckload of ISK they WANT to lose, and they got it the normal way. Sure, SOME actually might have "ebayed" either the ISK or the character, but saying they MUST have had done that is a mark of huge ignorance.

It's generally accepted (most of the time) that by the time you accumulate sufficient ISKies to indulge in flying expensive ships you are not going to make errors like putting arties and a small shield booster on a Caldari T3 ship.

Edited by: TraininVain on 09/04/2009 01:30:39 I didn't say there had to be ebay because it was a T3 ship with high end modules.
It's a T3 ship with T1 guns and a fit that would be embarrassing on a Bellicose (only using faction and officer modules).
I suppose hypothetically the character could be owned by an expert day trader who never undocked and made their hojillions doing market PVP. So I guess technically I can see an explanation other than ebay. It doesn't strike me as hugely likely though.

But the ISK making guides that you buy on eBay are worthless, buy low, sell high type guff. Or do you think that you can buy ISK on eBay?
He may have sold time cards to get the ISKies, but that is allowed.

Um. Good luck being a successful (read: billyuns and billyuns) trader without having an encyclopedic knowledge of every ship, module and industrial good in eve.
I've been known to "^A->fit to ship" for giggles, but I sure as hell wouldn't do that with a multi-B gank magnet.

But just for the humor value of the thing. If comedy ship fittings were against the EULA, all of us would have been banned by now.

Anyone ever thought that this killmail is maybe, just maybe, a fake? Personally I'd be surprised if there aren't any fake T3 killmails floating around. Probably a ton of them. It just is a too stupid thing to do to have the average idiot not do it. -------- Ideas for: Mining

I dont see much problem with fitting , CN Heavy launcyers =best in game , Tech1 Projctiles ?probably because capless and guy is minmatar expect better skills and/or no hybrid (and no clue about turret hard points/hybrid bonuses) do you know ship has hynrid weapon bonuses ( yes i did not interest with tech3 ships) if not i dont see any reason to choose hybrids over projectiles .But more than anything it actually looks a PVE fit

Edited by: N''tek alar on 09/04/2009 14:03:44 To all of you saying the kill mail might be fake...
I doubt it, Take a look at his other losses, For example...
This fleet issue tempest <-- lost in Rancer!
Or how about his "pvp fitted" Maelstrom?
Small gun-shield tank rupture anyone?
Arty-ac-hm cane?
Considering all of those losses are pretty fail fit, And that it's various different groups who claimed them, I'd say the Loki kill mail seems pretty plausible
Edit* Oh and, Whoever was talking about this being a Caldari T3 ship... FAIL...
Caldari T3 = Tengu.
Loki = Minnie. |

I flew some pretty fail fits when I was a noob, but it almost looks like this guy is trying to lose as much ISK as possible. He's not as totally clueless as this guy but it looks as if he knows just enough to intentionally make a fail fit. I wonder if there's a way to make a scam where you make ISK by losing ISK...

Killmail doesn't show subsystems, so who knows what his fitting constraints were.
Other than the inexplicably Meta 3 guns, yeah it does look like he fitted it by throwing money at the problem. So what? If undocking in an expensive toy you have the skills for but no idea how use was a bannable offense, there'd be a lot less people in Eve.

Yes it does, Battleclinic just doesn't have the icons for them yet, Hover your mouse over the areas where they are supposed to show and it'll tell you what subsystems were fitted.
And noone said it was a bannable offence, Just that if you have that much isk, And is that clueless about fittings you probably bought the isk, Either through ebay, from farmers or by GTCs. |

How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming

I don't think the toon or the isk was eBayed necessarily, I just think the dude has no clue how to fit a ship.
