Edited by: Lucia Dracus on 10/04/2009 21:49:47 I've got it taped on Sky +, havn't watched it yet though. I'm hoping it's good, but I dunno.
Seasons 1-2 were great 3-6 were absolutely epic, and the best, then it went abit downhill. So I don't have massive expectations.

I DLed it watched it.... it's meh, predictably it lost the crappy/amateuristic/sh!ttyness approach and replaced it with indepth characterisation and story. Which is WRONG!!!
It shouldn't be fekking Shakespeare, it should be 'in your face' sillyness!

Edited by: Irida Mershkov on 12/04/2009 00:27:32 Just watched the first and second part in one sitting.
Pretty good, it feels like its missing something from the old series, but despite a (is clichT the term i'm looking for) plot, it's damn good.
The scene where Lister was describing the 21st century toilet had me weak with laughter.
Edit: the laughter track is sorely missed too, it was the first thing I noticed.

You weren't the only ones.
It looked a bit compressed though (the Dwarf).

Oh, you Johnny-come-lately! The original Dwarf was always quite squat, hence the name. The scale of the ship is helped by the pan across the top of it in the credit sequence, otherwise it might appear to be quite small, It is supposed to be a vast ship, not long like the Typhoon but more like a Fenrir or Obelisk.
It is only when the series were remastered that some CGI idiot redesigned the ship as a long Typhoon like shape, completely missing the point. That made me cross for years whenever it was on screen. I, for one, was delighted that the shape had been corrected for the final episodes.

Red Dwarf would a mining mini-Titan. 6 miles long, 5 miles tall, and 4 miles wide.

I know that you pleb, my point is it seems even more squashed than usual, hence, compressed. Not just smaller.

Heh, the sound of the water tank deck is the same sound as the probe scanning sound is for EVE.
