Greetings everyone. I'd like to start a (useless) petition to un-nerf the machariel (which is one of the few faction battleships that probably doesn't need it) so that it can live up to its true (NPC) glory.
The other day I was running a mission (total carebear here) when I happened to look around (I do it once in awhile) and saw something (very) shocking! An NPC machariel was shooting at me with eight (omgawd, ate!) howitzers while launching a (single, solitary, lonely, suicidal, emo) missile at me!
This is both (not very) shocking and (even less) disturbing and I (with no respect or forethought for my actions) demand that CCP fix (can this really be called a fix) the PC machariel so that it has 8 turret hardpoints (yah!), one launcher hardpoint (wha...), and nine (hur?) high slots!
Viva la machariel! (Shouldn't that be revolucion?)

must admit i was suprised to see npc machs with 8 turrets too, it would be nice having 8 turrets but dps would be a bit crazy.
Still prefer the fleet temp to have a 7th turret just to spice it up

(If you) stop (abusing parenthesis, your) posting (will be more legible).
The mach could use some kind of a buff with the speednerf but it's not bad either compared to some of the other faction BS like say the fleet pest.
8 turrets with RoF bonus has no chance of happening, and without the bonus you'd do as much AC damage as now.

In a thread about the machariel responding to a proposal about putting eight turrets on the machariel I said 8 turrets with rate of fire bonus would be overpowered [on the machariel].
You know, the ship this thread is about. Which also gets a damage bonus.

the best looking ship in the game is a sad shell of its former self. its unique in looks, has an implied jove heritage, yet its borderline suckery in terms of functionality after they nerfed it to hell.
i sign the petition to make it more uber-er.

Considering that it was something of an experiment in stream-of-conciousness writing I think it turned out fine. Much better than the mental diarrhea others posted at least.

Now, all things considered the original post was made mainly in jest to poke fun at NPC machariels which have the equivalent of at least 9 high slots. Eight guns and at least one launcher means 9 high slots minimum.
The fact that most faction ships need to be rebalanced in ways similar to the Sansha lineup can be taken into account into this thread,but frankly it was mostly just to laugh at the absurdity of NPC ships and have fun doing it.
Now I wouldn't mind being able to fit 8 1200mm artillery cannons on my machariel, but I suspect that a 3/3 turret/launcher split with, at level 5 skills, the equivalent of an 87.5% damage bonus, 37.5% RoF bonus, and keeping the current tracking bonus, low/mid slots, and fitting capacity would be more in line with the route CCP would favor.
