I'm doing the lvl 4 mission, "Surprise Surprise" and I do fine against the Amarr BS and BC's, but when the Caldari BS's show up with their stasis webs, I can't hit them at all.
I'm in an Apoc using Mega Pulse lasers, and I've tried sniping with radio and getting close with Multis, and either way, I get cooked every time.
Any ideas? |

Try and use "keep distance at 20, so you are always trying to get away from them, thus keeping the transversal down. |

I tried that too, and even with a transversal of about 19 m/s, I am still having trouble hitting them.

Ok, now I'm noticing that if I get close enough, I can take them out with multis, but my radios don't do anything against them even at distances like 25km (59km optimal)

sounds like their shield tank is better than your damage. Do you get a lot of misses with your turrets reported in your combat log? or is it just that the damage is so low?

It looks like about half misses and half low damage.

It still sounds like your transversal. Check your tracking speed on your Mega Pulse (it should be something like 0.0xxxx rad/sec) and then see if the caldari ships have a higher angular velocity than your tracking speed. E.g. if your turrets tracking speed is 0.045 rad/sec but the targets angular vel is 0.06 rad/sec (as shown in the overview) then you are going to miss the target until they drop into your tracking speed range, iirc.

I tend to run a web.
Then my turret (T1 Mega modulated pulse lasers, tracking < 0.05) can hit orbiting close battleships. Battleship needs to be about 6km or closer for me to start to miss from tracking without the web and with it I can hit down to about 1000 mtrs.
Can get a bit better by aiming at the enemy battleship, or away from so they either run away or towards your so improve the transversal.
Abaddon, +5%/lvl damage very useful. Presume using faction ammo (+20% damage), heat sinks etc?
I find it useful to add the transversal to the overview so can see at a glance if a ship will give you problems.

You could sacrifice a mid slot for a tracking computer to help and/or a heatsink for a tracking enhancer. If you use both, I wouldn't use a script in your tracking computer so you get a bonus to both tracking speed and optimal, may help you use multi's a little easier.
