Hello,
I am about to get a new GFX Card for my dell 4300. And I'm not to good at Computer stuff so i am asking for help. I heard that Eve needs to be able to support shader 2.0 And that some GFX Cards don't support it. so if any one has a sec to stop and help id be vary thankful.

From the system requirements data:
# Video: 256 MB Shader Model 3.0 Graphics cards such as GeForce 8 class card or higher, ATi 3000 series or higher and Similar chips from other manufacturers # Drivers: DirectXĞ 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
Your computer has an older style of video card interface called AGP, so this will limit your choices a bit.
I was in the same situation as you, and I picked up a Sapphire Radeon HD3850 from newegg.com for about $105 after rebate.
The bad news is that even with this new card and a P4 cpu at 3Ghz, I'm still limited to about 20 fps with the games video settings in the "performance" mode. It's totally playable, but I think it's time for people like us to retire the equipment we have.
I hope that helps. If you're in the US then I recommend Newegg.com. Stick with the requirements for GeForce 8 and higher or ATI series 3000 and higher, in an AGP interface, and you'll be fine for a while.
Let me know if you have any other questions, or if any of this isn't clear to you. I'd be happy to explain more.
Good luck.

Now make sure of something before you buy that.....I think you need an AGP card, so PCI Express will not fit your motherboard.
I only know this from looking up the specs on your Dell. The specs I saw could be for a different variant of your system. In any case, don't buy a card that won't fit, okay?

looking here i think it will be a very tight squeeze whatever card you get. this should do the trick. you may end up need to upgrad the power supply too to cover the extra power an upgraded gfx card may need. just a suggestion... post your budget and see if anyone can come up with a complete new system for you an enemy of an enemy is a friend |
