OMG, what is worse than all the virus crap is the actual fighting brutes tbqfh. I checked that site out a few days ago and a virus crashing my computer would have been a godsend.

Nullrouting/blocking 91.209.175.100 fixes it for them all.
And yes, they are as bad as isk spammers in channels... --------------------------------------

From what I've heard the virus isn't on the MyBrute website, but a trojan on your computer tries to download something through it...
At least I hope so.

the website runs a javascript that exploits your browser and drops a small piece of code onto your machine, it then calls home and downloads the keylogger.
anyone who has visted the site without firfox+noscript plugin should scan their machines then change any passwords they may have used since visiting.
for those who still run unpatched versions of internet exploiter/exploder/explorer change your browser to firfox and install the noscript plugin.

Thanks for the noscript headsup. It even blocks that google profiling nonsense. That's a class addon.

1) go here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ 2) look at the version number. If it is 9.0.124 or later, you should be fine. If it is older, then you should really update your flash player.

Only an issue if you use an archaic version of the flash plugin.

Edited by: Astigmatic on 18/04/2009 23:31:54 Good job a Linux machine is unaffected. Maybe having a dedicated Linux client would aid more customers.
Edit before the storm: A linux client wouldn't help those with multiple Pc's obviously. But if a customer had one PC and was Linux based, then they wouldn't be affected by this crap.

Ad Aware has a 30 day full feature trial for their Helix anti virus. I also think it is infinitely renewable with a different e-mail.

I use Avast, its free and good. Not sure if it does that one yet but sure it will v v soon if not.
Also recommend getting IE8 or Firefox 3 or Google Chrome as your browser as these are the most secure.

I strongly recommend AVIRABest free light weight anti virus program I've ever seen. I've had one virus in 3 years of using it and that virus i fixed with another free program Spybot Search and Destroy
You would be hard pressed to find two better programs for fixing a problem. Spybot and Ad-Aware are pretty close to the same thing one will catch a few things the other wont. Also Spybot comes with a program called tea timer. If any program for any reason decides it want's to edit your registry tea timer will catch it (i.e. installing new programs ect. and ask you to allow the change. Tea timer is also completely independent of the spybot main program and optional ofc.
hope this helps.
