Edited by: Cakmak Cakmak on 16/04/2009 15:25:59 Hello there, I could easily say that I am a newbie with around 3 mil skill points - trying to be more efficient and harmful missile damage dealer (i.e. focus on gunnery) in the short term.
Currently I am doing some level 3 missions (agent quality = 1) with my drake and t2 hardware (7x missile launcher II, 1x tractor beam; 2x large shield extenders II, 3x shield harderners II, 1x invulnerability field II; 3x bcu II, 1x photonic cpu enhancer) without any real problems.
I checked many ships from evemon and trying to decide between a cerberus, an onyx and a nighthawk as my next ship. I really liked the idea of flying a Nighthawk but I need 120 days of training. Whereas I could fly an Onyx within 60 days and the best thing is, if I don't like it I could train additional 10 days to fly a Cerberus.
I checked forums to get more information about Onyx but couldn't find a lot. For what type of purposes do you recommend it? Can I run level 4 missions easily with it? What is your fitting on your Onyx?
Thanks in advance...

You could run missions with it, the onxy is really used for pvp to hold people, they have a sick tank and can hit hard, one they get an infinite point on you its over

Edited by: TraininVain on 16/04/2009 16:06:14 I did actually evaluate an Onyx for missions (don't laugh ) as a side use for one I was buying anyway but imo it's not better than the Drake for that purpose.
Pretty similar bonuses, same number of low and mids, T2 to Kin and Therm but less launchers. The only big + I'm seeing is the T2 resists to kin/therm but that's neither here nor there because you can get perfectly adequate resists to those with hardeners.
What it's really intended for is deploying the WDFG and having the shield buffer to stay there with jaws clamped on the victim.
I'd spend the extra cash on rigs for your drake tbh.
NH OTOH is supposed to be great for L4s.

Remove a PDS II and fit a DCU II instead, then take a LSE II off and put an Inval II on.
Perma runs the warp disruption and all missiles, tank EHP is cira 120,000HP
Great ship to fly.

Does it even have the damage bonuses to compete with the Cerb for missions?

It has a single 5% kin damage bonus vs. the Cerbs 5% to kin and 5% ROF.
