i generally would like to see the damage of my drones being displayed, but the problem with this as i can see it is that the screen would be cluttered even more with damage notifications. i already have most combat related notifications turned off so i can see only the incoming and the dealt damage, and it still goes pretty fast so i can hardly keep track.
with drone damage being displayed also, i could hardly keep track.

there are options to display the damage u want to see.
if u dont want overlapping damage information then turn off the infos u dont need/ dont want to see. problem solved.
an other suggestion would be: let us handle the position from our damage display ourselves. ____________________________________________X-Q___ | | | | | | | "Damage dealt by your drones" | | | | | |________________________________________________|

etc.
X= close Window and turn the Display for this type off. Q= Pin window and lock position of this Damage Display.(no borders or such are visible, just like the Damage display now!)
In general Setting add an option button:
[ unlock Damage Display Windows ]
so we wouldnt have overlapping information.
Keyword: More customizable UI.
Would be a great UI improvement if u ask me.

did a little visualisation for u to make my idea clear.
Moveable window to position the Display (all display types can be moved or overlapped, ur choice!!)
New General Settings: (Changed first type, added after it the drone display and a Button to unlock your Windows)
what do u think?

Also have them flash in the drone window like ships on your watchlist do when they start taking damage.

But yes, I'm sure that every drone user agree with you. The amount of feedback from drones and information concerning performance is frustratingly low. If we are wishing, we can add the "show drone range in ship fitting view or somewhere"; As a new player, this probably annoys me considerably more than it does experienced players, but it does seem remarkably silly that the only way I can see my command range of drones is to order them to attack something out of range and get an error message stating the range. :)

The target gets to see "xxx drones belonging to whathisface smack you for n" so it seems like it should be simple enough to do.

funny, I thought you were going to hit one that bugs me: why do the drones have a shield/armor/structure display only when they're in space? why, when I scoop it back to the drone bay, do I lose this ability to assess it's condition?
complicated explanation for o/c's like me: I'm in space in that Amarr cruiser that holds a ton of drones (but I can only field four). I send out my quartet and one gets banged up, so I yank it back. But then *I* start getting banged up, so I want to send out another, but some I *always* pick the banged up one to send back out, and... I lose it. So I send out another (and, by process of elimination, this one is OK). So, in the final analysis, I could have just waited for Pompous Asshat (ever been to Jolia?) to pop the drone, then send out a replacement.
stoopid obvious missing feature.

Signed, but show them as a cumulative number. With 5 drone notifications flicking away you will never see what damage your turrets are doing or what your taking.

It would help a bunch to know how much damage they're doing. We spend alot of time training the skills to use them effectively, let us see the results.
Does anyone remember how the log USED TO show drone damage? I remember, back in 2006/07. Why the hell did CCP remove that? (jerks)

For only like the 800000th time...
The drone damage is available in the logs. However as the drones are technically not you retrieving this data and displaying it would cause excessive hits on the Database servers and extra lag in grabbing and showing it to you. You can see the side effects of this "Drones Are Not You-ness" in the fact that if you get info on a drone in space it shows base attributes not the skill enhanced attributes.
CCP has gone on record many times explaining why they don't/won't do what your asking. Perhaps you should have taken 2 min to read all the 799999 threads regarding same subject or failing that at least read the Commonly Proposed thread!

and how do u explain that Drones are shown on Killboards as primary weapons if their damage doesnt belong in the logs to his owner?

thats just bs.
if the drones have the "Drones Are Not You-ness" in space, why does your rigs, mods, skills affect their hp,dmg,tracking, range etc? the logs for their damage are simply their, because if u kill a rat with your drones only, the wreck belongs to u, their damage are registered with the server otherwise the rat would getting any damage and first fact on top of that too.
the arguement that it would lagg the servers because YOUR CLIENT is showing the LOG which EXISTS ALREADY is completely nonsense aswell.

I am with you on this one. This makes absolutely no sense. Drone damage is calculated in damage done in Killmails I believe no? Why can't it be instead of "Hammerhead II hits you for blah blah blah" something like "Niko's Hammerhead II hits you...."
