Let's face it, guys, Why do we do missions?
For most of us, it's either: 1) Rewards 2) Standing
At the moment, i've stumbled upon the "Epic" story-arc, starting at the Sisters of EVE station.
Now, I've gone awful far out of my way (Placed a Jump-clone in Gallente space, when my 'Home' is in Amarrian space) to do these missions. The rewards, though, are certainly NOT beating the time I could have spent mining.
So I ask you, my fellow Capsuleers,
Is the Sisters of EVE Epic Story Arc worth it in rewards or standing?
Please give me your two-cents worth.
Otherwise, I feel like i'm losing productivity. I've got ships to build! |

That epic arc mission is for brand new players in brand new ships. Unless you don't have a destroyer skill book in your repertoire yet, you probably won't get a lot of benefit from doing it.
Both for standings and isk reward, it's meant for brand new players.
That said, I recommend doing it, just because it's an interesting story. Be prepared, though, cause it's long, and in anything bigger than a frigate, VERY boring combat-wise. |

I plan on doing the mission arc for the story behind it. Sure it's all level 1 stuff but it's the storytelling that I'm interested in seeing. Level 2, 3, and 4 mission arcs are goals that CCP is currently working on accomplishing. I'll definitely play through them too.

You'll get more enjoyment reading Dune than any story offered in EVE. Do missions for pew pew and LP, not for story. |

I ran them in a Harbi. Deal was, I only fired my lasers once, during the very last two or three missions.
Everything else was done with five medium T1 drones

"Worth doing it"?
This is still a fantasy (fanta-science) game, CCP are trying to introduce something beyond the min maxed ISK makers, for those who value story and intangible entertrainment.
I suppose you never buy a book without jumping at the last page, and then complaining it was not worth it?

From an isk/hour perspective it's better to run level 3 missions, but I'm not sure that level 2 missions are worth more. A lot of the storyline missions are really pretty generous.
I had a pretty good time going through the storyline in a brand new character and the last couple of missions became noticeably challenging (more in a can I break this tank solo rather than omfg I'm gonna die way) in a mission appropriate ship (destroyer at the end).
If you use a veteran combat pilot then it'll probably be tedious and not very rewarding time wise. |

In WoW terms: "WTF I am level 80 in end game epics and I don't find this level 10 quest chain challenging nor rewarding at all FFS!" |

If you're an older player doing this mission, then do it in T1 frig. Not faction, not assault ship, not (battle)cruiser. This will:
- Remind you how much fun it is to have to control range, manage traversal, and generally act like you're afraid of dying rather than able to AFK things.
- Get through the very considerable amount of travel at more AU/second.
You'll want a good destroyer or regular cruiser, or a new friend, to break the last couple of bosses.
Rewards? If you're far enough along to be asking, then it's not as good as mission and salvage out of a fixed hub. |

There are no rewards for it, there is no standing gain besides a little bit of insignificant corp standing, and the rewards are set at 100-200k per mission. ---

Yes, for noobs.
As an older player you get almost nothing worthy, but it is a nice break from the regular missions running and mining even for a veteran. So I say do it. I did.

for older players it is worth it too, not in an isk or mods reward sense. or in a standings sense but in a good story and providing variety sense.
those of us older players who want a break from fleet fights, pos management and BP research its an entertaining diversion. i'd forgotten how much fun frigates can be and how much more challanging they can be. also, i can now try all sorts of cool fittings now my skills are at a respectable level.
its like a holiday. -
