Here's a list of current issues I am experiencing while probing:
-System map filter does not work (i.e. you can't turn planet display on/off)
-When I exit a W-system with probes still out and then return to the system and reestablish contact with said probes, two issues occur. -->Issue 1: the planets/moons are not displayed on system map. -->Issue 2: probes do not seem to have either my skill/implant/ship/launcher/probe bonus or some combination of those.(i.e. i warp to a newly found wh that I got a 100% hit at 2au scan, go through to see what is on other side, immediately return and reestablish connection with the probes, rescan with out moving probes and get a 32% hit on the site; to get 100% without collecting probes and relogging I had to go down to .5au scan) *Note: relogging fixes the problem, but you have to start over. Not leaving probes in system also prevents problem.
-Scanning filter does not function properly. Every time you change the filter(i.e. from filtering anomalies only to cosmic signatures only) I have to changed the filter selected and then right click the "edit setting" and click save for filter to adjust properly.
-Only one result will display on map when two results are given by a three probe hit. The one displayed is not always the correct location of the site sometimes it is the "mirror" site.
-Major lag issues when initiating scan and retrieving probes.
Well that is the list of bugs I have noticed. Any input from others would be appreciated.
*side note: the new probe skin makes it difficult to see inside the probing radius. As this is the most annoying of all the above complaints, since I have to strain my eyes constantly, please offer a way to change the "density" of the skin display to make it easier to see through.
and sorry to all those offend by poor punctuation and grammar.

I have seen most of the issues you listed as well as an additional one last night.
- I probed out 5 sites. At some point I was unable to warp to 0 to any of the sites I had found. Trying to remote bookmark the sites would bring up the bookmark window, enter the name, click OK but then no bookmark was actually created. I figured something was borked with scanning and tried a directional scan which started scanning but never finished. At which point I could not change tabs on the scan window (whole scan window was frozen except the spinning status thing at the top). I had to relog and rescan all of the sites. |

Yes, I experience the same problems and also some more:
- sometimes a probe is launched with no moving arrows and I have to repeatedly turn it on and off to make the arrows appear
- when launching a new probe, the signature already selected in the solar system map disappears. This is annoying as you have to select it again in order to see where to place the newly launched probe

Same here. I've experienced all the same bugs except the WH one (and that's only because I haven't gone into a WH lately).

I too have experienced most of what already explained.

I can confirm all above, except the WH one, haven't done that mistake yet.
Additionally : - Sometimes max amount of probes all deliver 100% signature strenght, and still no warpable or bookmarkable location. May not be a bug, but doesn't make any sense either. - When multiple probes are selected and you click deactivate box on one of them, it deactivates all of them even if you would expect the syststem to select the single row and deactivate the single probe. - If you log off with probes in space and log back, the probes are set to maximum / default scanning range and not what they were set before (csb) - Probes that have not been moved between scans, are still in "moving" status when you scan again, delaying the scanning process and causing obviously lag. And not making any sense. - box-with-arrows and celesital objects in solar system map disappear and reappear depending on the humidity in the office, the angle sunlight hits the Tower of Pisa, among other unknown reasons.
- There is no game play petition section or technical bug reporting section for exploration. And due the lenght of these mails it would seem a neccesary addition.

I too have experienced these bugs - another one is missing probes when they return to your cargo hold - i lost 7 core probes in one night (they had 45 minutes left of scanning when i returned them) - also on return to my cargo hold the loose ones from previous scans wouldnt stack (not a space issue as i had only started off with 30 core and 10 deep space in an Anathema)

Signing the bugs (besides the WH ones).
For me the most annoying ones are the one-red-dog bug for three probe hits and the way celestial objects (stations, planets, gates etc.) vanish from the solar system map every now and then. While the disappearing map problem seems pretty harmless, it's actually quite annoying when you're ship scanning and want to see where the ship is at.
For me the ship filters suddenly started working yesterday (or was it the day before?). I don't know what changed but suddenly things were working as expected after being totally unusable earlier on. ______________________

I've been having the disappearing system objects issue as well. Very annoying indeed. The scan filters sometimes don't want to change over, but the workaround I've discovered is to edit the filter you want to use, then save with no changes. Seems to force the settings to the new filter set.
I haven't found a workaround for the system map issues though. Short of logging off and back on. Also, I don't know if it's just me, or if anyone else has experienced this: some systems certian numbers of probes will cause what I will call "probe distortion." Ie, too many probes out, and nothing gets picked up, but if you reduce down below 3, you get signals, but of course just based off of one or two probes, so no pinpointing. And yes, I have lvl 5 astrometrics, lvl 4 on pinpointing and triangulation, lvl 3 on rangefinding. Not maxed, but more than sufficient for my purposes.

Signed, since I dont scan much I haven't seen all of the bugs, but these I have noticed: -Epic lag on starting a scan or retrieving probes (usually takes me down under 1 FPS but this is on a laptop (10-20 FPS normally :p))
-Filter doesnt filter (or uses wrong / mixed filters, I discovered the same workaround as the above post)
-Only one of the two hits from a 3-probe scan is displayed (the 2 hits are listed in my scan results but only 1 dot on the map)
-selecting the individual return button beside the probe returns all probes to the ship
Also if a probe's cube is under the tactical overlay level in the map it goes very dark and hard to see, and if there is another probe's scan radius overlapping it I have to select it by knowing roughly where it is and making it go blue by hovering over it. I agree with the OP that there should be a scan radius 'density' slider in the esc menu somewhere, would make life easier, but there should also be a cube illumination slider or something.
On an interesting note, when I do a scan with no probes overlapping it only lags a bit, as I would expect, but when they do overlap it lags to under 1 FPS. It also always lags about the same amount when I pull more than one probe back to the ship. When I pull only one back it barely lags at all. In both cases the probe warping effect is used, so Im thinking that it could be a bug in this code somewhere? Just a thought.
Would it be worth me petitioning this, or do CCP have enough info already?
*Quick thought just before I was going to post: If I pull my probes in, the scan results in the lower half of the window seem to appear and dissappear quickly, though the 1 pixel white gridlines stay constantly on in that box, it's the text that goes wierd.
Oh, and i think i stole this idea from someone else, but dont you just hate it when you dont realise the bit of text at the bottom of a post is actually the signature? |

scan probes un aware of thier identities!
ever had the scan probes turn into different scan types (of the same m3) in your cargo over downtimes or jumping through a WH? ie, had 40 core probes turn into 10 combat probes...
my known workaround to this is to split the group, load a fraction into your launcher, then use the 'reload' button and they magically know what type they are again (cargohold screen closed)

you sure?
