In an attempt to raise the cultural level of the Khanid Kingdom our CEO, The Bookseller, today proudly unveiled a new room in the reading room of our igb website, the Poetry appreciation corner where a number of haiku's is published for the first time. But since this is not about the Bookseller, but about our Kingdom in general, this official opening has been combined with a competition.
All pilots, whereever they live, are challenged to send their entries to the eve-mail address given in our press announcement. All published entries will receive 10,000 ISK in royalties. While we acknowledge that this is not a whole lot of money, we hope that it will stimulate our fellow pilots to try their hands at this exiting art-form. Which haiku's will be published (and rewarded) is at the sole discretion of The Bookseller.

Are only haiku's acceptable, or any form of prose?

Our wretched enemies beneath us crawls; As we watch from our heavenly walls, And like thunderbolts we fall."

Edited by: Aldrith Shutaq on 30/04/2009 20:03:20 I do find the haiku a most lovely form. I have spent some time composing just now and have come out with a good many I believe I can call decent. The simplicity of it lends itself well to off-the-cuff creativity. Mayhaps it will get me out of this writing-rut I seem to have been caught in since I graduated from Hedion.
I will send them to you shortly, Sir Bookseller. I thank you for offering this opportunity. I might compose more in differing forms in the future. I wonder though, should I post them here or only send them to you in private?

I would like to recommend the poetry corner of the Khanid Bookstore. I am impressed and pleased by what is found within.

I thank you for your kind words and contributions. @Aldrith Shutaq: Posting here or sending them to my evemail address is equally fine. I am more likely to read my e-mail on a very regular basis, but that would be the only difference. I look forward to your contributions.
I will be re-organizing the Poetry Corner to allow for the various formats that I have received. This will also allow the publication of Alica Wildfire's amusing Limerick.
