Only useless to those that don't need it.
A specialised arazu pilot has it to 5 to cut down locking time after uncloaking.
Black ops
It only needs level 4, plus Black ops get a none target delay bonus, so level 5 wouldn't make any difference.

Survey V is a pre-req to Archaeology, so if you plan to do any exploration with that nice big bang-ship of yours, it can be a useful skill. Sorry to contradict. :)

Warp Drive Operation V - unless you're going capitals and need the jump drive skills, this is a waste of time.
Fly a small or medium caldari ship then see if you still believe this. I trained WDO V before I got cruiser V...
Or try warping across a system like 9-266Q in Venal in something smaller than a BS (200+ AU between gates )
I still don't think this skill is worth it for the rare occasion you need to jump that far, but it is for jump drive operation. Don't forget black ops ships have jump drives too, not just cap ships.

If you solo WDO is pretty huge considering you can start a fight with a % of your cap.

It's only a rank 1 skill ffs...it's like what? 3 days to train to level V?

This skill isn't completely useless to train since it gives you a few more market orders, but is Trade V required for training any other skills? I checked a bunch of times and couldn't find any, which is weird since all of the skills that give you more orders require the skill before to be at level V (except Trade).
So, if I'm right, it's probably worth it to start training the other market order increasing skills before Trade V.

You've earned it back after roughly 8mil SP, regardless of what those SP have gone to. Not a bad deal. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Before QR, GMP was completely useless and TNP wasn't far off that level. Now, if you're a missile user, you'll want GMP IV and TNP V as a priority.

These aren't worthless but, same reason for all: IV is 20 jumps which covers most regions, same as V. How often are you going to be on the wrong side of a 21+ jump region?

There are little skills that can help you in tough times, as they always say, another 5% in your favor is better than it being against you. Rigging 5 would seem a waste, though if you fly alot of pvp, you may find that useless if you fly frigates. I cant wait for 100 years from now, and ill ask my grandchildren "do you like eve?, you know its a great sci-fi game". "Grand dad what are you saying?? its a reality game" |

mmm actually Learning 5 is a very good idea to train if you can be bothered. The way it stacks that small bonus can actually get considerable, especially considering it applies to all attributes. ________

Salvaging 5 will let you use tech 2 salvager which will cut a huge chunk of time off your salvaging, which in turn will allow you to make more isk faster. Hardly useless.

While Sov 5 and, for example, Outpost Construction 5 (only needed for Tier 3 upgrades) aren't useful to a lot of people, and maybe haven't even been needed on TQ, they aren't useless by the definition of this thread.

Mining Upgrades Level 5 it doesn't enable anything, and the increase it gives you isn't enought to fit an extra mining lazer upgrade anyway. I've been trying to figure out what good it would be and can't find anything apart from that it means you can get an extra certificate, which is anoying because it's the only skill I need for the certificate.

Erm what? The break even is exactly 50x the time to train it. If it takes you 4 days then you'll be making a profit on day 201 (just less than 7 months).
It's the only skill that you use all the time.
