Is there a backlog in processing reimbursement petitions?
Almost a week ago I filed a petition (reimbursement category) due to a private item exchange contract that completely disappeared off the face of New Eden (including the items involved). As of today (almost a full week later) I've heard nothing back from the people handling the petitions. Which is annoying because you require petitions to be filed within 1 week of the 'event' and now I have no way of finding out if something went wrong with submitting the petition and perhaps it never opened succesfully.

It must be the most boring job at CCP to go through reimbursement petitions... I would hate it. For every one you have to read what is said, compare with logs, recreate items etc. And for every one that gets done, I bet 3 new ones pops up...
Hope it pays well.

Think its more like
"Denied our logs show nothing" "Denied our logs show nothing" "Denied our logs show nothing" "Denied our logs show nothing" "Denied our logs show nothing"
Now i caught up coffee break, 10mins
inbox 300 replies
Sets Denied bot in action till caught up again, closer to the truth I guess as some bugs do lose you ships and you dont get your ship back, rarely someone confirms they did get a ship back guess they got on top of the inbox and actually read one.

It'd be a real time saver if this were true, at least for me.
... I've got some decisions to make over the next 2 Weeks, and the longer it takes to ge a reply to my petition, the the less likely I'll be able to continue subing for another 30 days.

Thanks to you who provided some information about your own reimbursement petition processing times.
I'm bumping this thread hoping for someone from CCP to see it and giving some information about current petition processing delay time. |

This is a rather common misconception. Yes, we do use standardized replies for common issues. No, this does not mean that we didn't read or investigate your petition, however. We read and investigate every petition which we receive quite carefully.
The fact of the matter is that most petitions are about the same issues. We could spend our time writing a unique reply for every one of the petitions which we answer, but why would we do that when a reply has already been written which provides a answer to the issue perfectly? This allows us to answer more petitions, as we can use the time we saved in writing the reply to the petition to read and investigate other petitions. This in turn leads to a faster response time to petitions, leading to better service to you, our dear players.
Take for instance the now-infamous reimbursement declined reply which some of you have come to know and loathe. Whenever we deny a reimbursement request, it is nearly always for the same reason; We just can't verify that the loss was abnormal in some manner (Also known as "The logs! They show nothing!"). Writing up a reply that adequately explains this to the player can take quite a lot of time, time which we could have spent investigating the next reimbursement request.

Although some people arent happy with things, today, I put up a petition because my mission was bugged...
6 minutes later, yes, only 6 minutes later, the GM replied and fixed the mission.
So, on that front, well done to them.

I have had all my petitions answered in a very timely manner. I think the longest was 3 or 4 days, of which 2 were the weekend.
I guess I got them in on the right days, and/or put them in the right place.

I am worried about this petition system, since it take so darn long before i get my answers i am afraid those GMs dont care to check the logs anymore...
Currently i have a petition on missing PLEX items, and if the petition delay make me lose real life money, i will not be so forgiving... Rawr! |
