Edited by: Vikura on 26/04/2009 16:00:20 I'll try:
+50 CPU +35 Grid +500 Shields +200 Hull +1 Lows +1 Mid +25m3 Drone bay +2000m3 cargo
WTB!
No really, miners need some loveÖ. In total there is like 2 (3 if you get covertor) between starting ship and a hulk. And then it's "game over" in terms of new ships for you :-(
edit: Oh and, make it more greener!

Why do you need better Hulk? It already mines all that it can. No point in a new mining vessle unless it can mine more than the current one. (1 extra low might enable that tho, granted)

Seriously, what can you do to imrpove mining shipwise. You have the Noob Ship - Frigate - Cruiser - Retriever - Hulk. Or Rokh if you go battleships. Get 5/6 hulks and an orca and you just melt asteroids (literally). nothing really can be done with mining ships, sicne putting anything in between jsut doesnt benefit us miners. Anything more and it deflates the value of minerals.
if anything the mining mechanism is being looked at to change the way we mine rather than how much we mine.
How would adding that to a hulk be better, very littel you could do with that on a mining vessel since with few faction mods it can tank 0.0 spawns at least long enough to escape. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

hasn't anybody learned that faster/safer mining won't make you more money, just drive prices of stuff down?
What do you plan on using the extra grid/cpu on?
500 shield and 200 hull will do very little to help
t2 versions of PVP ships SOMETIMES add a slot, often times just move a slot to specialize it. You just add two slots for funsies.
How about instead, a dedicated ice mining ship, a dedicated mercoxit mining ship, that receieve bonuses to JUST that kind of mining That can add some flavor. Also a mini rorqual might be nice that can compress ore and you can trade minerals to it without having to drop a can, but has the cargo hold of lvl 5 industrial and no jump drive and no bonuses.

Edited by: Vikura on 26/04/2009 16:21:01 Edited by: Vikura on 26/04/2009 16:20:45 yeah 500 shield and 200 hull does very little(~1k EHP with DC :P). 1 mid with the extra cpu/grid allows little better tank while 1 low allows one extra MU. edit: then again, faction ships don't add _that_ much over the normal ship /edit
And well, the "I'll try" part (first line) was a hidden "if there would be a faction hulk, how you would want it to look like".
But yeah, if the current mining system stays as it is, you can't really increase the ammount of m3/min mined, as stated - few hulks with orca (hulk)smash belts...

Guess what? A lot of FACTION ships add slots for funsies. Like the navy issue apoc - it gets another low. I dont see how this would be any different. its a faction ship, it gets extra stuffs.
