Is there any diffrence between the two to make you choose the adv.? I looked at both and it just seems like the adv. offers less with one of its ability offering a slightly better time.

According to the in game discriptions the Adv. only has 3 copy slots, 2 ME slots and 2 invention slots where as the standard has 1 copy slot, 3 ME slots, 3 PE slots and 5 invention slots.
Honestly im just not seeing what makes the adv. lab worth while.

If you do a lot of copying, adv lab is preferred.

Bolding the important parts. Also, the advanced lab has a x0.65 time multiplier on copying on its 3 slots copared to a x0.76 time multiplier on the 1 slot on the regular lab. So you get nearly four times as much copied using the advanced lab than the regular lab within the same amount of time.

So then one should have at the very least 1 adv lab in their POS for the purposes of copying, right?

You probably should if your planning on doing large scale stuff. You probably would want one or two advanced labs to be used for a little research and invention but mainly copying with some standard labs for the research/invention jobs.
