1st CSM call for candidates: 97 applications 2nd CSM call for candidates: 71 applications 3rd CSM call for candidates: 56 applications
seems like a reverse auction to me not forgetting to mention that a voter turnout for the second election was lower than the first the upside is that each individual counts for that bit more now

CSM1: 64 CSM2: 42 CSM3: 40
You count the rejected candidates too. As you can see, the difference between CSM2 and CSM3 is inside a reasonable range of uncertainty.

The next surprise is inevitable: that he is the 53 year old.

Is it possible to get a breakdown of why certain people were rejected as we got in previous elections?

Election date information would be more appropriately placed under EVE INSIDER | CSM | Main or even on the candidate listing page -rather then burried in an obsure dev blog. But then... perhaps my mentality is impaired from working too long for a librarian.
Publishing of applicants: April 27, 2009, Monday Elections: May 12th, 2009 through May 26th, 2009
Is it just me or would this make too much sense?

Just had a look at the candidates at http://www.eveonline.com/council/voting/CandidatesView.asp?
Would it be too much to ask that those with a empty box add some meaningful content and those with holywalloftextbatman provide something a little easier on the eyes. Wall of text as intro or motto or RP snippet, or whatever you call that box on the right of each candiate, just screams "SKIP ME".
Noone is forcing them to run, but since they do, they could show a bit more respect for their audience by giving us a meaningful appetizer. After all, there are 40 of them. Most people don't have to deal with 40 parties at elections or 40 presidential candidates, etc. and will most likely be applying some very harsh filtering.

It'll be interesting to see how many people vote this time, my guess probably not too many. __________________
