I would like to hear some opinions on what would make the best frigate to run lev 3 missions.
So far I'm using a maller, but I want to go an advanced frigate and i dont want to train the wrong 500k sp.
I have Minmatar and Ammar frigate at lev 4, but I am willing to start from 0 on another race.
Idealy what I am looking for is something with more/equal punch as the maller + faster and more flexibility (a missile turret or a drone)
I am conserned with missile defence on frigates. In a maller missiles present a big problem when taking on elite cruiser rats (I'm still new only 1 mil sp so far, and 250 of it is unused in minmatar ship skills)
I would eventually like to try some pvp (although not pirating) so maybe a ship that keeps my options open would be benefitial.
I was going to go for Vengence (because it looks soo goood ), but it just doesent seem viable for lev 3 missions with only 3 lasers .
Any advise would be great, thanks.

...before taking that step, you should improve your current skills a little more. 1mil SP and going to the elite frigs is kinda steep.... -------------------

dont do missions in an interceptor - stick with the cruiser/BS (or even a tier 3 tech 1 frig: you can do 90% of the L3 missions in a Tristan)
insurance for 'ceptors makes it simply not worth the risk of doing PvE in them (2m payout for 10-15m ship)
the advantages of 'ceptors are best realised in PvP - you're cruiser/Bs will make more cash by running missions faster (and you'll have space for the loot) |

what meowct forgets is the improved firepower and survivability offered to interceptor class vessel over standard frigates
yes, it is possible to die doing lvl 3 agent mission or 0.0 rathunting in an interceptor
no, it will not happen unless you screw up
pay attention and pve in an inty is near totally safe
i do it all the time

But BS are so expensive... Are they really worth it in terms of making money in missions?

You want an close range 10mn ab setup (short range orbitting to maximise the tracking needed to hit you), the retribution has by far the best papers for that. -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Retribution? For short range laser attacks?
I cant get on to check it out, but doesent the grid seem a bit small at 80? And the recharge at 225 compared against other aslt frigs seem a bit slow.
The 50% cap need reduction is on guns... not the AB, a cruiser AB at that...
