Ok,
So I here that there are interceptors that wrap scamble you on missions now. This means that I have to change my original setup of 8 tachs and an mwd with my Apocolypse.
What is the best setup for these new missions? Do you use a large smart bomb or small turrets to take out the interceptors?
After you take out the interceptors is it easy to use my coward tactics of mwding out to a safe range or does other stuff like cruisers and frigates close in fast on you?
If that is the case then I guess I better join the crowd and start this crazy armor tanking thing everyone is talking about. So what is a wise setup? 1 large armor repairer, a mix variety of hardeners and maybe an armor extender?
Please help me out!

Edited by: Dave10 on 01/09/2004 10:06:50 you have an apoc and dont armor tank? it certainly has the PG for it..
anyway - 2x large armor repairers, 2x hardners (thermal and kinetic hardners for this mission) and the rest of the lows as cap relays..
does anyone know how well webbing the warpscrambling frigs works?

I did that new Mordu mission with a Scorpion,
Cruise missiles, 2 Medium named pulse beams and 1500 M3 of assorted drones.
I launched the drones when the interceptors got right up in my grill, and they made short work of them along with the cruise and beams.
I would advise upon getting this mission to launch drones as soon as the interceptors start shooting, head the other direction from the main mob behind the interceptors.
As soon as the interceptors are dead, recall the drones to your drone bay as the ships coming into range will go after those first.
As soon as the other ships start locking and shooting you, feel free to redeploy your drones. The second wave (2 Caracals and 2 other cruisers) You'll probably lose your drones at that point, unless you recall them before you kill the last ship of the first wave, then relaunch after the second wave spawns.
I lost 6 drones to the first wave after I killed the interceptors, because I left them out and they got tagged.
I will probably need to use different tactics the next time.
Pretty hard mission though, they had my scorp down to about 40% shields at one point.. and I was seriously low on cap. I kept one of the frigates alive until my cap recharged, shield boosted back to 100%, let the cap recharge again, reloaded my cruise launchers then killed the last NPC from the first wave.
That way when the second wave came in I wasn't stuck in the outhose with no toilet paper

Before this last patch I didn't need to armor tank any level 3 missions. I'd just warp in at 60 km and take everything out with my 8 tachyons before anything could even scratch me.

8 medium pulses (small guns) 1 mwd, 1 tracking comp, 2 cap rechargers 3 armor hardeners (all except em), 2 large armor reps, 1 dmg mod 1 relay (you might get away with dropping a hardener if you know what your up against, or an armor rep for another relay orso if you even got troubles running one all the time).
And a bunch of diffrent med drones in your dronebay (dont forget that you have them when you need em).
Just warp in at 15km with your hardeners active and go beserk on em . -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Things change lol adapt and overcome.
Just to add I had this mission the first time last night, yes I got scrambled, no with my current setup I could not do anything other than tank, but I shouted a couple o friends in local and they killed the spawn for me....
Moral make sure you can tank, if ya can tank whatever you have left will kill...
Or call friends :P
Chrome Born.
P.S. After a lil recofig on my setup, I have done this mission twice without probs.
