Hi there!
Does anyone know how I can run 2 clients in dual view smoothly? Is there a trick to it? I have a P2.53 with 2gb ddr RAM and a gfx5700ultra graphics card and I'm trying to run 2 monitors off it (one analogue, one digital). Whenever I get two clients up and running on the separate monitors the fps just drops and eventually everything just switches off. So ... is it possible?
Thanks

Better 2 video cards m8 or run on the same screen in window mode, Eve used to have multimonitor support but it was taken out/disabled long time ago

I think you may be right, I tried to fit another card in then realised I hadn't got the necessary slot =/

Sure it's possible with 1 videocard but you would first need a decent system. Your current one isn't going to cut it.

Step one, buy a video card made in the last half decade nearly. Preferably something 6800+/1600+, Nvidia/ATI respectively. Next, try a multiple core CPU or motherboard that takes multiple processors like an Opteron or Zeon system. Remember that each client takes about 150-250MB's of system memory, each. With 2GBs of DDR1, you should be able to run up to 9-11 EVE clients simultaneously.

have you tried changing your multimonitor mode in yr vid card interface?
i had to stretch desktop across both to make it work, and most def. run eve in windowed mode. two fullscreen mode clients on a mirrored two monitor setup most certainly does not work for me.

try running the 2 clients using this little tool
download site.....
http://eve.j-e-b.net/evemover
it works perfectly and easy to use.
I think your setup will always choke on 2 clients though whatever you do. I have a 4400 amd dual core 4 megs ram and an 8500gt video card and get around 30 fps, high quality settings at 1280x1024 and 2 AA. double that if I reduce the eyecandy.

It really would be amazing if eve had dual monitor support but i think that's just wishful thinking.
You can run 2 clients without too many problems, i even managed it with acceptable fps on my old machine which is an amd3000 and a nvidia 6600, you have to play with the settings a bit though within eve, under the graphics card menu i had 'nvidia 6600' listed twice. I had to make sure i selected a different 'nvidia 6600' on each monitor then make sure the window on monitor 1 didn't overlap onto monitor 2 and the second client didn't overlap onto monitor 1. If you do let the 2 clients overlap, even by 1 pixel, you will know about it because the framerate will drop to like 3fps. Saying that, since i started using vista it's not been happening with me, i think Directx 10 works better with multiple monitors.
Only thing that annoys me is i have to move the windows about constantly because my taskbar keeps getting hidden, if there's a way to change the resolution to something other than the default ones i'd like to know about it because that will save me a lot of messing about.
