Edited by: Declan Idaho on 03/05/2009 11:32:19 Hey, have you ever wondered what time it is in-game but were... stuck at work or something? Well, now you can with EVETime.net, a website I built whose sole purpose is to do just that. Yeah, yeah I know it's just GMT, but still... now you don't have to do any math, just bookmark the site and load it up.
Future features include converting inputted EVE Time to your local time zone, so that you'll know that that Alliance Fleet Op they've got planned for Thursday at 19:00 really means it's at 2:00pm.
The site's free, no ads, and feel free to donate if you like. A buck, ten, a PLEX or GTC, whatever. :) Do it, don't do it, it's entirely up to you.
Enjoy the site!
---
Oh, by the way, the website works IN-Game (why would you ever want to do that, though? There's a pretty clock in the corner) but is meant for your normal web browser.

Even though it's faster to do the maths and it has a url that sounds like you're trying to sell isk, it's a very pretty page.
Well done!

Haha, I never thought about that... it DOES sound like I'm trying to sell ISK. But I'm not. And you're right, it's easier to do the math if you like to remember all that stuff. In the US particularly I don't want to have to worry about Daylight Savings Time, converting to 24-hour time, THEN adding 4 (or 5)... just load a URL!

Nice.
This'll come in handy to silence those downtime whines of people who don't understand that GMT doesn't conform to daylight savings time. Just point them to EVEtime.net and say, "See that, son? That's the current time in EVE. And between 11 and 12 on that clock, EVE is offline." Although it would be nice if the clock updated automatically and not just when you refresh the page (not a webdesigner, so no idea how hard that is to configure).

I really liked your portfolio; you're a web-artist, not a web-designer.

Miriel - Soon I'll have it ticking... but I wanted to get it out the door asap. Also, I'll probably make it list DOWNTIME when it's downtime... or maybe even a countdown to downtime for the hour before it.
Ray - Many thanks. :)

Add in times from all over the world too. The amount of times ive had to check up a US time op to gmt or eve time is countless

I would also Include Seconds, It's An Amazing Site, But having to Refresh the page to get the 100% Accurate Time is something that can be fixed by having it display seconds. --

Nice implementation OP. Next we'll be fawning over sites that tell us what day it is.

Yeah, more features will be coming. I figured making the clock accurate to the second wouldn't be that handy... will people really be needing it for up-to-the-second updates? The clock's not actually 100% in sync w/CCP's server, as far as time is concerned.
Glad you guys like it though! Feel free to donate in ISK too! Hehe!

I guess it could come in handy for people who are far away from GMT timezone, like the US. I'm only GMT+2 max so not so bad for me.
I agree though, the design is pretty cool and your portfolio isn't bad either. Good work.
