1. Download eft.
2. Put your personal skills set on it
3. Use a apoc instead of a geddon.

Pretty much it right there. While t1 sniping certainly is possible, and in a geddon, in all honesty (and this is especially true of lasers imo) you're going to really need to do t2. Fortunately, it's not that bad a train and a 'necessary evil' anyways. Abaddon is also a fine choice, but geddon is much more of an 'in yo face' kinda ship.

You realy need t2 to make your longrange battleship efficient. The only semi-exceptions are the Rokh and the Apocalypse which are a bit more forgiving in that regard ( but still less usefull than if they were t2 fitted )
Regarding the cloak. Cloaks mess with your sensor ressolution ( which is already bad on a battleship ) and you already need most of your sensor boosters ( 2 or 3, depending on the ship ) to increase your locking range to an acceptable level. Therefore i wouldnt advise to fit a cloak.

Depends on the situation. A single sbII with res script will pretty much cancel out the penalty of the cloak and lets you sit your gank geddon at a safespot safe from probers and the direction scanner as your bait ship lures in the prey. Uncloak and warp when the bait is taken and by the time you get to the target the lock delay has run out and you can proceed to pew pew him into a pod. Not recommended for solo work though as the geddon only has three mids and you need them all.
Ontopic: Use an Apoc as the Geddon is for close range gank.
