Is it against the EULA to sell 1x of this item in every station I dock???
We talking of a cheap one, less than 50k. I want annoy him to the point he stops trading with this and I recover my higher profits. He wants regional order, he will have to dock in every station of universe to haul all the crap. the lulz!!
Still, dont know if this is an exploit or whatever.
Discuss.

Doubt it will annoy him. He could just pull his buy orders and wait till you post yours and sell them all back to you or worse move inventory to some camped low sec system and sell it back to you. |

Edited by: Malarkie on 04/05/2009 22:35:00 Nope....it won't work. He'll just place another order and wait.....if he placed a regional order he most likely expects to visit quite a few systems/stations to recover his "loot". And more than likely...he already has these items all over kingdom come anyway.
Edit: although...dumping his entire order in a "heavily" trafficked low sec system 3 or so hops from hi sec...."might" bother him depending on the size of the items.

Against the EULA? Heh, you should see my assets portfolio, I guarantee I've got some piece of crap at every station in the Citadel.
Wouldn't count on that bothering him in the least though.

Annoy him? Good lord, you have no idea, delerium is a good name for you!
You are helping him if you are selling things to him at his price. With a regional order, he is getting things all over the place and expects it. You will always get some single items in annoying places, it is part of the cost of doing bsiness. You selling items at his price is not against the EULA, but it is against common sense. He makes a profit each time you sell. Also, all those sales makes it look like it is an active market and he wants a cut of it. The more you sell, the more he will chase the market, keeping you out.
Please move to my system and try and chase me out of the market!
Now that I have mocked you, let us think about this. If he is picking up a lot of items, especially if they are bulky, he is probably using a industrial ship. He is not going to want to visit low sec in that. So you could seed the items all over low sec and annoy him. However, that is not much of a revenge.
If you really want to try and upset him with your idea, here is what you do. Sell one item to him and learn his name. Then track his online time, see his habits. Then go and sell a lot of the item deep in low sec and camp it when he is online. Wait for him to come and get the large number of the item. Use his greed to suck him in. Gank him and hope the items drop. Be aware that traders move on a dfferent schedule and he is not going to rush to get the items. You may have to wait a couple of days, so make sure it is in a system you like being in. You might not get your market back, but you will get a nice warm glow inside.

Bare in mind he may have alts for scouting/moving the itmes (I would) and if its items requiring a freighter He will more than likely (if he has any sense) have an escort.
Alternatively you could take a war dec on his ass... providing he aint in a noob corp.

I read C&P, but I am a trader.
Small pickups have to occur to centralize the goods. If a freighter is used, it will be used from the central point, probably not from the location you have sold a fair bit as bait. I doubt a scout would be used for the small and medium pick ups. Your point about an alt is well made and might ruin the plan. I can not think of a way around it, but if anyone else can, please share.
isking me by 0.01 is like someone shooting at a you as a pirate. It happens all the time, it is part of the game. It is not annoying. Every morning I eat breakfast at the computer, updating my orders and most of them are by 0.01 or 0.02, depending on how much competition there is. Also, it will get pricy and the OP seems to be upset the price being used is too high already.

that's the way to go. Key words: "...the second he goes offline..."
That way he doesn't get anything while offline.

Or, you could share, but that would be nice, and nice doesn't fly in C&P

Does not compute? Try a re-boot.
Who are the biggest risks to a small time trader? You, you nasty criminal pirate. So of course I read what you are doing so I make sure I can beat you. Why aren't you studying your enemy?
Also, once the stupid comments and childish flamewars are pushed aside, the criminal stories are much more entertaining that trading stories!

Aren't you really just shooting yourself in the foot with this sort of thing?
I mean, if you want him to have to visit every station in the region to pick up the loot, you are going to have to visit each station in the universe to seed the stuff.
Hell, it will probably end up annoying you more than it annoys him, seeing as he probably already expects to have to visit all those stations anyways.

If you were to train up the right skills (daytrading, visibility, etc) in trading you can rather easily make his region order work against him. First you identify every trade and major mission hub. Maybe there are 4-5 systems total. Secondly you use your trading skills to place and maintain better bids in only these areas. Your skills allow you to do this while not moving much, if at all. What are you doing here? Youve targeted the heart of his region wide order strategy and stolen it. You're leaving him to skim dregs (which are gonna be writeoffs in his mind anyway) while stealing the volume he needed to overcome that writeoff. If you can sustain this over a few days, that order WILL come down.

Edited by: Plithe DaBane on 07/05/2009 03:09:45 Doubtful... someone tried that with me once and all I did was increase my buy order to be 10% below the lowest sell order... eventually the person pulled their buy orders and I moved my stock to a region I already knew was had higher profits... I was prepared to take a loss on it but didn't in the end.
