About to take an extended break from the game. Anyone able to tell me what or how the costs are calculated for equipment in corp hangars or private hangars until return?
Thanks in advance.

Private hangar does not cost anything (regardless if you have a running subscription or not) Corp Hangars are up to your corp really.. If they demand a rent from you, then you need to settle with them about your leave. Your bigger concern should be, if you will still be in the corp, if you take a longer leave...
If you want to be absolutely sure, just contract all your stuff to me, I will hold onto it, until you return :)

Thanks, that about confirmed what I thought.
No, I will be back and will want all my toys. And I wouldn't want to spoil your game by leaving you five years of accumulation to have to wade through. :)

Five years, and you have to ask about fees for having stuff in your hangar. That's like playing for 3 years and finding out you can undock :)

I play when I feel like it and,...I don't troll the forums to get my rocks off.
I know there are fees associated with recovering impounded equipment members have left in remote places, and unlike the response above, I believe there are fees applied towards your personal hangar after a certain period. I just don't know, or actually have to worry about it. But it was something I would like to know if it was detailed somewhere.

Never heard of it. Corporate or personal for that matter. Never.

I promise to not whine about having to sort through it and I even promise to not use anything of it, that requires a skill named "Gallente xyz"... Heck, I would even provide you with a list of all the stuff you had, er... I mean.. I am protecting for you.. upon your return.. And you will get that list, I swear

Took a break several years ago.
When I came back, I had millions in charges for the personal hangars that had been impounded. In fact, I just trashed hundreds of thousands (lots of ammo, misc ore and missiles) of items that had been impounded after being left at that base at games release. Members had left items and never recovered them. As I was mothballing the Corp, I cleaned up everything this time.
Specifically I was wondering if the impoundment fees were based on number of items, volume of items, value of items, etc. I went to the trouble of repackaging and moving everything into freight containers labeled appropriately and to reduce the number of items in the hangar.

Played 5 years had a 6 month break never been charged for personal hangars, corp hangars however are a different story, no idea how thecost is calculated but i know one place wants me to pay a ****load of money to release some random T1 crap so i left it there ^^ --------- Liberty Rogues Site[/center]

The only impound fees currently in place are for items in corporate hangars at offices which have not had the rent paid. Maybe at one time they impounded personal items, but that no longer happens. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

It may well be that I'm mistaken on the items being in private hangar and may have, in fact, been in neglected corp hangars. At the time of the first break, everyone pretty much quit at one time and left a lot hanging.
Thanks for the input.

Jita dwellers won't be able to accept the contract unless it's in the same region, or if it's a private contract.

Only Corporation assets can ever be impounded (if the according corporation hangar gets unrented for some reason, or if the corporation inherits the assets of a member character that has been biomassed). The costs to get the stuff out of impounded is 50% of the current rental fee for an office at the according station, the amount or size of crap that got impounded does not matter at all (it could be 1 Tritanium or a truckload of capital ships). If you rent a new office at the according station instead, you can deliver the impounded stuff directly into the newly rented office hangars at no additional cost.
