I am a little confused on how the tracking disrupt scripts work. The optimal range and tracking speed...does the tracking speed script reduce optimal to 0 and give instant lock or a increased optimal with a long lock. Sorry if the wording is a little weird but that is how it is to me.
I plan on training for a curse or pilgrim soon so that is why I was trying to clarify this.

Edited by: Davinel Lulinvega on 07/05/2009 17:34:30 Neither. The optimal one lowers your target's optimal and falloff range. The tracking speed lowers their tracking speed, which makes their turrets miss more. They both work by percentage; no amount of td will reduce them to 0.

Just to add to the above, like tracking computers and sensor boosters - scripts on a disruptor double the effect of the script being used whilst removing the unused effect.
It works like this (for example):
Unscripted tracking disruptor: -20% tracking speed, -20% optimal/falloff range TD with optimal range script: -0% tracking speed, -40% optimal/falloff range TD with tracking speed script: -40% tracking speed, -0% optimal/falloff range

If I could pose an alternate question; Let's say I fit two Tracking Disruptors on a ship. Load one with range script and one with speed script. Do they suffer the multiple module penalty, or can they be used in conjunction to make a single target lose %40 on all sides of turret range and speed?

You can, but usually it's better to do both with the same script.
