Hi, I'm a returning player. Up until now I have been using just my main. I am a miner by trade but I have been slowly transitioning towards becoming a trader/Industrialist. I decided that it would be beneficial to create an alt. For right now I just want an alt that I can camp in a different market hub from my main to monitor the market. Here are my questions:
1) Is there an easy way switch characters on a single account without having to log out of Eve then log back in to swap characters?
2) How can I tranfer isk & materials between two characters?
And 2 more regarding running multi-accounts if I decide to do that down the road:
3) Is it possible to move a character you created in one account over to a second? How?
4) When running 2 accounts, do I have to have 2 instances of the Eve client installed on my PC or can one client be opened multiple times?
Thanks,
Xavier

2) Go to people & places on your neocom, search for alt's name, "Give Money". You can also contract modules or trade in station.
3) Yes, pay 20 bucks
4) Just run one client multiple times

1. No. CCP added a "log off" button but all that really does is turn off the program then automatticlly restart it, you still need to log back in with your username and password.
2. Between two characters on the same account the easiest would be via private contract. You can also use GSC's anchored in space and private corp hanger (provided you and your alt are both in the same corp and have a rented office).
3. Yes. By "selling" your character to yourself via the methods CCP allows, however this will cost you 20 USD a pop to do so.
4. It is best to have multiple clients. I know at one time you could use a single install but I experienced trouble with that and it might no longer be possible. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I run one client multiple times with no problem. I think it used to make a difference but doesn't now.
Try loading the same client twice and if you do have problems - then copy the EVE files to another directory and create a short cut to there. Thus, you could have:
c:/Program Files/CCP/EVE Premium c:/Program Files/CCP/EVE Premium2
with two different short cuts on your desk top.
Now, as to whether or not you should do this and how - yes - if you are a miner and can afford the extra $15 a month then by all means do it.
Don't stick your first alt in a trade hub. Make a guy to haul for you. That is the primary good you're going to get out of this. Use that industrial to move back and forth so you're lasers never stop except to change rocks. Even if you have a Hulk - it's better to have a hauler doing your hauling for you so the Hulk can keep mining. Put a book mark in a jet can to keep it open, then transfer the ore through the can from the miner to the hauler. Never leave ore in the can. If another player comes along - do a Look at them, then move your POV around the the stern of their ship to see where they are headed. If they are headed for your can - pull the bookmark until they go away. Don't trash talk them and they usually will.
Once you've gotten a hauler working for you - then take one of the accounts and make an alt on it - and have that guy in the trade hub.
Train the Trader in the Trade hub with Broker Relations and Accounting.
Then decide who you want to train of the two alts. Trading is less skill intensive than Engineering. There is no end to the things you could have an Engineer train.
Train all three characters in Faction Industrial - it is just to useful a skill not to have.
Having an extra monitor really helps or you can try running two windows on one monitor. The game does run faster in full screen mode though - so if you have trouble - you can just alt-tab between the clients.

Well if you consider the fact that having two accounts probably increases your ingame profits in some way, eventually said player could support both accounts with Plex and play for free!

In regard to question #2, my main and both alts belong to a corporation I started precisely for the purpose of sharing Isk and assets with the minimum of hassle.
If your main is part of a player corp already, just have your two alts form a corporation, so at least they can exchange stuff easily.

Can your alts join the same Player Corp if they are of different races?
Are there any special skills required to do that - such as Diplomacy?

The skill Ethnic Relations.
It needs Social trained to 3 IIRC.
