Salutations fellow capsuleers. I am working on a Curse fit for solo lowsec pvp.
[Curse, Darkfury mk1] Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor I, Optimal Range Disruption Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor I Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I
Improved Cloaking Device II Medium Energy Neutralizer II Medium Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II
Particle Dispersion Projector I Anti-Thermic Pump I
Hammerhead II x5 Vespa EC-600 x5 Warrior II x5 Ogre II x1
Gives my TDs an optimal of almost 60 km, and high resists all across the board. Anyone within 13 km will have 2 med and 2 small neuts on their ass. Not to mention the web and warp disruptor. I imagine that this ship could handle itself against most other cruisers as long as they were cap dependant and/or used turrets. Battleships would require a double tracking speed debuff, and quite a bit of time to whittle down with drones, giving them ample chance to call in the cavalry.
Thanks in advance to any advice you can give on my fit.

Edited by: Thenoran on 12/05/2009 07:54:59 One potential problem is that the plate and the armor rig will slow you down too much, allowing most T1 Cruisers to MWD towards you before their cap dies out. If you're kiting the target at 20-24km, why need a web? In addition, one TD with a range script will pretty much make Turrets useless at that range, so you get two free mid slots.
Maybe fit nanofibers and cap power relays in the low slots and a LSE and an Invul (or a second LSE) in the low. You can then fit two very cheap shield resist rigs. (EM & Thermal) Try and get Amarr Navy Small Neuts, they should have just enough range at Recon V for kiting at 20km or so.
Also, a regular Tech II cloak will kill your scan resolution, and it will take 10-12 seconds before you can lock when you decloak. ------------------------ Low-sec is like sailing along the coast of Somalia...

The above basically sums it up.
You have a armour buffer tank of about 4.5k, which is pretty anaemic.
Ditch the web - you shouldn't be getting that up close and personal in a Curse.
2xLSEs will give you over 8k shields (and +50 PG but with the MWD going you'll have a huge sig anyway), if you must have a TD then use anti-EM/anti-Therm rigs to compensate, otherwise stick an Invuln II on and use cap/shield extender/egress rigs to taste.
As for lows I's say either CPRs or Nanofibers/Overdrives depending on taste.

Ditch the cloak. Lock time is extremely important when soloing. |

Agree with this. After the nano-nerf, Curse is no longer a viable solo ship. I have a Curse fitted similarly to this one, and I mostly use it as a support vessel, although it still has some efficiency when alliance mates are not close or doing something else. If you're working on that modus operandi, it's ok. But, if you are going out completely solo 100% of the time, grab a Pilgrim instead.

Only thing with a Pilgrim is that without the range Bonus on the Neuts you are basically commited to a close range fight making it hard to GTFO if you need to. With a nano Curse you still have the capability to disengage and leave if its not going your way or help arrives.
Ok you can launch ECM drones to help your Pilgrim escape...but still it's a bit of a brick and if friends arrive you are basically screwed.
Curse just leaves no problem. -- "If itĘs true that our species is alone in the universe, then IĘd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little" George Carlin |

about 2k speed and a good enough tank.

That can be a problem, true. But, Pilgrim has the cloak and can evaluate the situation. Nanocurse doesn't have that option and can still land into more it can handle, get scrammed and webbed. So, it's a pretty grey topic, all depending on the battlefield situation and personal skills/ flying style. Not to mention everyone freaks out when they see a Curse on directional. ________________________________________

That is probably the main problem for the curse, every solo players run to station when they see a curse on scan (with good reason).
