I'm considering buying an Asus Eee (mini laptop). Does anyone know offhand if it has good enough spec to run Eve?

I used to use the Classic client on the EeePC, but I dunno if it'll run the new premium-lite version. Ran the classic with minimal settings pretty decent, though. I'll have to download the new client tonight and test it out perhaps. ACSG Open Recruitment- AU/NZ/AsiaPac ACSG Employment! |

I have an Eee 901. It works quite well with everything turned down to minimum settings, when sat in a station. You can undock and travel around, but dont try and 'do anything' such as combat.
Basically, change your training, play the market, manufacture stuff, chat to corpies, dont do much else.

I used to play the Classic client on an Eee 701 4gb. It worked well enough, better than many expect because of the very low res (vastly reduced workload for graphics) but you can't expect too much. Overclocked to 1100mhz with 2gb of ram and custom drivers for the 915GM I was able to mine(In high sec)/trade/chat/other quite well.
However, with the scrapping of the Classic client it can't even start EVE anymore so that's out the window. However, mine is one of the very first batch of first gen Eee's, the new ones are a lot better from what I hear (Yes, even in the same 701 range, new tech and all that jazz) so I'd have a hunt around on an Eee forum like this one and see if anyone with one of the 901/1000 range Eee's has any luck.
