This is half rant, half curiosity; but why is the Dominix so... ugly? It looks like a space whale and it's supposed to be a battleship. Several of the industrial haulers look more menacing than this oaf of a ship. And for being a droneboat/minicarrier, it hardly looks the part. You can't even see any drone bay on it to speak of. I mean, I guess it's in the same general vein as the vexor, but at least the vexor looks rather sleek and not like some bulbous growth.
My question is, has CCP ever changed a ship's model? Is it plausible to see a sexy domi in the future, or are we stuck with the space whale for all eternity? I can stand to use it because it's just so damn useful, but I really can't see how the dominix's design fits the ship in any way.

The space shoe is still very intimidating to many pilots

the Gallante have a problem with the above quoted, most of their ships seem to have cancer to some disgusting degree, especial their titan, looks like a massive tumor covered ham leg

You obviously have not flown the Domi enough to appreciate how the crude simplicity of it's design matches it's use perfectly. It is a half-formed turd that you can shape into practically any use. It is not the raw clay of the Domi that makes it great, but the artiste who pilots it.

I don't debate the usefulness of the ship, I agree it is phenomenally versatile, I just don't feel the ship's hull design does it justice. Call it a matter of taste, perhaps, but I do not see any aesthetic appeal in it as a battleship.

I actually like the look of the Domi. Looks compact, ready to ram into something, and the silver circular design with the thrusters in the front tops it off. The Drone NPC version kicks even more arse, with moving claws and an insectoid thing moving on the top. Beauty in the eye of the beholder I 'spose.

While I do agree the Domi is hideous, I can not imagine them changing it. Its horrendous looks are part of the ships personality. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs. |

I think it looks relatively imposing, it has a thick, solid bulk as opposed to the long, thin sections, sprawling antennas, or wavering solar panels of most other battleships. It looks like it's something that could absorb countless missiles ramming right into it and still have the core sections, deep in the center, under layers and layers of armor and decks and hull and bulkheads still functioning. Within that deep interior is surely enough room to house countless drones as well.

To me, the Domi is a shapeless and hollow bubble, that can be filled to the brim with drones.

Megathron. 'Nuff said. But I agree, the Dominix looks like a flying colon.

The domi is proof that **** happens.
and as some who have faced the domi have discoverd, **** can indeed hit the fan.
whether it is **** or the ****, the flying turd is one of those things that we hate to love in this game. like carebears.

I for one approve of the domi. Like the looks. Not everything needs to have this "speedy" and "agile" look. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- The secret to success, whether it's women or money, is knowing when to quit. I oughta know: I'm divorced and broke. |

And hey, if they leave the graphic alone, the space whale can take on the winner in the sequel.

In the description it says it's one of the older Gallente vessels, so maybe if they create a new T2 BS they'll make a Domi with a complete new model, otherwise, doubt it.

It's a balancing issue. To compensate for it's flexibility, CCP made it fugly.
