I was reading the internet and I found out the true meaning of Oneiros.
From the book "The English Dream Vision: Anatomy of a Form", there is the following definition:
Originally by: "Chapter 2, page 61 of The English Dream Vision: Anatomy of a Form" All dreams may be classified under five main types: there is the enigmatic dream, in Greek oneiros, in Latin somnium; second, there is the prophetic vision, in Greek horama, in Latin visio; third, there is the oracular dream, in Greek chrematismos, in Latin oraculum; fourth, there is the nightmare, in Greek enhypnion, in Latin insomnium; and last, the apparition, in Greek, phantasma, which Cicero, when he has occasion to use the word, calls "visum."18
So Oneiros means "An enigmatic dream". How fun is that? :D
My ship is a dream. It will be named appropriately :)

TBQFH, the people buying his GTCs quite appreciate their free eve account. He quite appreciates their ISK. What's the problem here? Oh, the problem must be that he's having fun playing the game instead of ****ing about grinding missions and market for hours on end. Got it.

Three problems:
1) He's always bragging about his ships. Remember his "OMG I HAVE THE FIRST T3 SHIP!!!!!" thread? Or his "which officer mod should I use on this frigate" posts? It isn't so impressive once you realize that he didn't earn those ships and the wealth he's trying to show off, he just got out his credit card and cheated his way to it. If he just quietly bought GTCs I wouldn't have a problem with him.
2) He sucks at PvP. It's hilarious proof that RL money can't buy you PvP skill. Just look at his fits, mediocre module choices at best, except everything is faction/officer/deadspace no matter if it would actually help the setup or not. And then he gets them blown up in hilarious situations that most decent PvPers would have avoided (such as PvPing in a T3 ship in the middle of a FW blob).
3) The sheer scale of his GTC habit. We're not talking about a GTC every month or two, when you're too lazy to run some level 4s. We're talking about hundreds of dollars per ship. Honestly, this is getting into "serious gambling addiction" territory. -----------

The thing is, he did not realy achieve them in a honorable way and rang the big bell about the first T3 ship. If he would have kept his mouth closed, no one would have cared, but he failed to do so.

I think the most important thing we can take away with us from this thread is the idea that when you hit Siigari Kitawa, shiny things fall out of them.

The sad thing about Siigari is he's so busy hitting up shatteredcrystal.com after every loss he doesn't have time to think about the fight to actually learn something and get better.
Siigari, we miss having you around, when you coming back to Syndicate? You only stayed long enough to undock (and therefore lose) merely 2.5 billion or so ships worth of isk to us. Still it seems you didn't learn the lesson we were trying to teach you, since you went on to lose a Proteus (The first T3 loss in game, in case you're confused about which of your proteus losses i'm referring to) by committing the same rookie mistakes that you did against us.

o.O
How did this thread turn into this?
I posted this in GD, it got moved, and now it's being flamed for just about no reason other than being creative (which by the way won a few fights).
Also, to my own defense which I really don't care about but I'll put it out there anyway, I can earn my own way in the game without using GTCs. Taking one instance and mapping it to every ship I fly is called "broad brushing" and I do not appreciate it, nor does it make you seem intelligent.
I play EVE to have fun. For starters, I don't even currently own an Oneiros (I think). That Oneiros loss that was posted was months ago, and I lost a couple like it both with a similar idea. It needs a bit of fine tuning, but the idea is there :3
If you guys feel the need to flame every thread to the ground just because, then whatever. But I was just posting an interesting tidbit of information about the nature of where the name "Oneiros" came from. Sheesh.

I guess instead of officer hunting I should just go Siigari Kitawa hunting... might be worth asking ccp to add an officer spawn with the same name that drops random mods that shouldn't be on the ship, much like his fits...

Edited by: Rajere on 19/05/2009 12:21:30 It's being flamed not because you think it's creative (it isn't) or because you think you are original (you most definitely are not), it's being flamed because you Siigari'd it.
Siigari'd (verb): To take a ship and then fit it in an alternative, niche fitting "style" appropriate in certain conditions, rather than using the popular fitting style appropriate to most scenarios. For example, fitting a BS with an dual rep active armor tank (appropriate for 1v1/small gang conditions where incoming DPS is less than X), vs fitting an armor buffer EHP tank. Instead of optimizing the fit for the particular niche condition you are aiming for, the choices for the fitting itself is usually quite terrible. Now upgrade all those choices from T2 to Deadspace/officer/faction, regardless of how little impact said isk investment will have on the performance on your terribly fit ship. Now type up a thread bragging about said ship, thinking that you're original (you're not), talking about how great your fit is since it's so expensive (they're always terrible). Finally, press the "submit" button to post your thread, just before you take the ship into the exact opposite battle conditions which you've fit it quite poorly for. (again for example, jumping your dual rep BS into a 12k DPS BS gang)
