As the topic says this issue only popped up recently after the newest patch messed up my last eve install.
So I re-downloaded the client in full now it crashes with a python25.dll error after a random amount of time.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Well if its anything like RMR patch , it could be sound related.
Try going in to your eve folder and select the configuration settings, in there change the sound from a 1 to a 0, then try starting the client.
i had a python error in rmr and even though i disabled sound ingame it didnt have any effect on the crashs till i disabled it in the configuration settings. its a long shot and of course not an ideal solution but hey what you got to lose

I started getting these random crashes a few days ago aswell. It doesn't happen extremely often, but it does happen. I had no problems untill a few days ago. From my event viewer:

My client has been frozen 3 times in the last 4 days and i have to do a cold cut. Its happened 2 or 3 time before and when i looked in event viewer the earliest crash was in march. And its all down the python25.dll error, Is there a fix being worked on for this

Edited by: Sonya Rayner on 09/07/2009 23:25:44 I have also my clients crashing because of this error. I checked event log, i can find these errors all over it. It was python25.dll but now i'm crashing with faults in other modules too... any solutions? Sometimes it can last online for mopre than 6 or 8 hours in a row and don't crash, sometimes i get a few crashes in a space of 10-15 minutes...
edit: Windows XP SP3 32-bit, ATI Radeon HD 4670/1024MB (GPU temps all right), AMD Athlon64 3700+ (i changed processor from AMD Athlon64 3200+ yesterday, but it was crashing way before i upgraded anyway), 2 gigs of ram.
It also crashes on my laptop, and it does so even more frequently. Laptop specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 processor, Intel X3100 integrated graphics, Windows Vista (crashed on both SP1 and SP2) Ultimate 32-bit, 4 gigs of ram.

Same here. Serious lockups and crashes with Stackless Python in the middle of it. I doubt it's the Python itself, but rather a module that's connected with it.
Just got this error a short while ago.

3 times in the last 2 days for me. XP32 SP3, Intel Core2Duo 2.4, 2GB RAM, nVidia 8800GTX. I was starting to wonder if I had a bad video card 'cos when the issue occurs, the client first seems to lock up, stopping the mouse from working, and then 5-10 seconds later all the textures corrupt. CTRL-ALT-DEL eventually brings up the task manager from where I can kill the client, but I need to reboot before I can launch Eve again.

Looks like my issues were caused by hardware. Later in the day I posted that last report, the video card died altogether. |
