If your ship is lost as a result of an unplanned downtime then you should submit a petition and the Customer Support Team will investigate the matter for you.

If the server goes down before your ship dies, your ship will be safe.
(Note: Just because you disconnect, doesn't mean the server is down - the database/blade itself has to fault for the node to seize and for no further action to take place). --- Grez: I shot the sheriff Kalazar: But I could not lock the Deputy BECAUSE OF FALCON |

The usual procedure is for the logs to show nothing, and you buy a new one

Last time this happened I lost a fitted drake and the GM replaced it for me within 24 hours.
Hopefully my tank held till the server died. I had a faction fit Myrmidon in a level 3 mission playing with it.

My apologies. Was not meaning to poke at you, Navigator is of course correct. If you have lost your ship due to unannounced dt, file a petition. Sadly as these petitions (reimbursement) take approx 4 and a half years to get looked at, you would be better off buying a new one in the meantime.
That said, it is more likely you emergency warped away, and will be fine. Fingers crossed for you.

Losses occured ingame due to serverside issues can just be petitioned. This doesn't involve jetcanned ores or wrecks you were looting / salvaging.
CCP will then investigate this matter and if it's indeed a loss due to serverside issues you will find your replacement soon enough.

We are sorry for your loss, however the server logs are unable to support your application for a ship replacement under CCP reimbursement policy.

A few months ago I lost an Apoc warpping into hostile territory and the client froze. I couldn't move for a few minutes, etc. Finally I had to force quit the client and log back in and came back in a pod. I petitioned and they recovered all the dropped mods and the ship. I lost a few pieces plus the rigs, but all in all I cannot complain. It took them about a day when all was said and done.
