(Yes, this is a crosspost. I figure I might get better replies in here.)
Now, two things to mention: 1. I'm not very experienced or skilled in shield tanking. 2. I'm not very experienced or skilled in Minmatar ships.
However... Out of the four Battlecruisers I can fly, I'm thinking the Cyclone looks like the best for running plexes in low sec Wormholes as a way of making ISK when I'm bored. -Brutix is out because of no utility hislot. -Myrm is out because it's a drone boat. -Hurricane is a possibility, but it isn't much of a tanker.
So, basically, I picked the Cyclone because of its tanking bonus.
Now, on to the fit. From what I understand, Shield Boost setups don't necessarily need to be cap stable, and they're best used to provide a big boost in bursts. Is this correct? Because this setup is far from cap stable- It can run everything for about a minute. But if I'm not running the shield booster all the time that shouldn't be a problem. Also, what are encounters like in WH? Should I be using long range weapons like usual for PVE setups or are short range weapons usable? I went with Arties because I'm unsure. For all I know this could be a terrible setup, so please don't rush to flame- just try and fix whatever may be wrong.

You may have a lot of trouble with Sleeper battleships. These have long range missiles that will cause 800+ damage while you close, & their short range guns will pretty much insta-pop a cruiser.

Hm, is a solo BC not suitable for lowsec Wormhole exploration then? I can't imagine that would be a problem unique to the Cyclone. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs. |

I've done some WH sites in my cane. Worked well enough (Read: I didn't die). I'd still be at it if it weren't for my utter fail at scanning skills. Once I have time to train scanning skills up, I'll definatley be back at it.
That said...
Pull off a gyro and replace with a PDU if you're that worried about cap.
Ditch the CAP recharger for a boost amp

I'd go with a myrmidon, despite all you hear about how "sleepers eat drones alive" i found this to be untrue for the most part.
Yes they will switch to drones, but they do not instapop and you will be using lights/mediums for level 1/2 wormholes anyways, and most of the Sleeper NPC's only stay 30km from you max (very little travel time).
The bonus of using a myrm is having very many high utility slots, and your cap is pretty stable when using cap rechargers in your mids. I also bring remote reps so that i can repair any drones that were shot at.
Cyclone will generally have cap problems the moment the frigate sleepers start NOSing you (which they do).

You can probably solo the class 1/2 wormholes (perimeter camps). The class 3/4 will pop you. Once the sleeper frigs are on top of you, you will be relying on the drones, if your drones last. The cruisers usually armor rep, so just one ship might not have the DPS to do the job. Plus, one ship would take much longer work sites.
Me and my alt run the class 1/2 in a Harbinger and Drake (I have done them with a BC and AF). And the 3/4 in a Harbinger and Raven (done a few of these with a BC and AF, but it is work). I don't run the 5/6.

No Salvager? The real ISK in killing Sleepers is in their salvage. Dropping an assault launcher for a salvager shouldn't hurt your dps too badly.
Also, I'd suggest a webber if you can find room for it. You may have real trouble hitting sleeper frigs without it.

'low sec wormholes' doesn't really tell us much about what kind of wormhole you're attempting to run. You can get pretty much ANY kind of wormhole in low sec, so what class of wormhole are you trying to run? Like has been said before class 1-2 you'll probly be ok in, but 3 and up will likely liberate you of your ship.

We live in a class 3 wormhole and while you can tank most of the anomalies in a passive drake you will not have nearly the DPS required to make it cost effective. You could shoot at one of the sleeper BS's for 30 minutes with heavy missiles and only dent it. This would be the only Battlecruiser I would suggest using and its DPS is low so Cyclone/Myrmidon etc. just isnt going to cut it. As for the sites, the lower level Radar sites only offer cruiser and frigate resistance which means a Battlecruiser should be ok but should you warp into the higher level ones by mistake you may find yourself in a pod before you can do 180 degree turn to warp out. We have found that the most cost effective way to steam through class 3 sites is with a couple of battleships or command ships. Each anomaly offers 50 - 60 million in loot and salvage and with three of you they can be done in no time at all, 10 - 15 minutes at the most.
If you find a RADAR site that could be 100 - 400 million for 25 - 30 mins and a Magnet we have had between 150 - 650 for 30 mins. This is all based on class 3 sites. Beware, the top Magnet site offered in Class three has a 3 battleship spawn with scrambler frig support which stripped my Absolution of armor and 50% of its structure in less than a minute (just enough time to kill the 2 preserver frigates with points) so anything less than this (which is 2nd only to the Damnation for tanking Sleepers with a local tank) will get popped long before the frigates are destroyed.
Hope this is of use, for any more help with Wormholes or to join our merry band of Wormhole Pioneers visit our in-game channel 'ApertureCOM'
