Titans. Look, they need to be more useful, but not ridicu-powerful. Simple fix, great effect.
- Titan Gets ability to use Seige module.
Doomsday device requires Seige mode.
It becomes a big, expensive and slightly more vulnerable dread, with a big explody thing.
Station Camping Sitting in docking range, and not fighting like a real person should?
Add an 'observation deck' that provides an overview and visual readout outside the station, as if you were in space, and the station was your ship.
Next, anyone that undocks from any station anywhere, is pushed 1500m fromt he station docking boundry in a random direction, at full speed. Invulnerable till they get to the 'waypoint', but unable to control the ship.

The station camping is a real pain. Why not extend a station shield out a little way that protects outgoing ships.

Sounds good.
Should do the reverse for docking. Once you're on top of the station and in the control of the station tractors you're safe.
Risk is one thing. The complete helplessness -- unable to fight, unable to run, unable to survive -- coming into and going out of station with hostiles in system is another. The gates at least offer a chance.

Either I completely misunderstood the proposal or you did.
What does the aggro timer have to do with low-sec or war conditions where you have to undock blind into a potential mob of people who can freely shoot you before you know they are there and against whom you can offer no defense?

I like both of these ideas. Maybe tweak the titan seige to 5 minutes and use twice as much stront and make all capitals immune to the undock thingy.

More useful... So I guess the ability to run warfare links, create a jump bridge to jump in a fleet, and the DD which will destroy any ship without enough EHP (most sub-bs ships) is not considered useful. So we give it a siege module, so you would deal twice the damage of a Dread, and i have no idea where you get slightly more vulnerable from. All in all a bad idea.
That idea, in addition to the station idea you have, tells me that you don't like doing real pvp.

I think you are missing the reason titans are near invulnerable. They warp in, DDD, warp out so quickly that it is impossible to tackle them. Forcing a titan to enter siege in order to DDD would give everyone 10 minutes (or 5 like I suggested) to get a tackle on it. Maybe even up the damage of a DDD to 140k damage (double what it is now)

Warp out so quickly...
47 sec align time is not what i would consider to be "so quickly" and 140K with a DDD, that's IS redicu-powerful. yeah, you can keep it there for those 5/10 minutes, but what then? there aren't a lot of sub cap ships that would survive that. Not to mention that the surviving remnants of the fleet will then be subject to the titan's 6 capital weapons boosted by siege mode...
Bad idea all around.
Next time someone has an idea like this, go to the bar and drink till you forget it. |

I think titans should not be use to kill a fleet. Specially when the fleet have wasted several hours to form up and get to destination.
So that 1 guy can waste every1 fun for the night :(
What the titans should be used for is what they were intended to be used as "logistic transport ships", they should be use as carrier boat for fleets and deploy them in any given part of reach.
The titans should be a HUGE clone bay ship where you would reappear when you get killed and you could have ships ready to use and easy get back into action.
The titans should be more of a moving staging "station" that the alliance could use to manoeuvre large fleets.
