My build is 88974, when I go to the test server download page it says the test server is using the live client but when I start the test short cut it says I have an incompatible version.

Yeah, I get that too, and loads more people looking at all the posts :(
As usual though, no one from CCP can even be bothered to comment or fix it :(

Mine says Incompatible (Release) too. I'll just wait until the next sisi update to make a patch.

I'm trying to /install/ Sisi...
And the latest client install has been updated without a Sisi patch that is compatible with the new client.
Damn it, CCP.. I've logged onto the server twice, and that was years ago, how come when I wanna try it now you have version-mismatched downloads?

Yes, the current Sisi version and TQ version are the same, 6.12.88947.

I took the time to do that (23 hrs =\ hello crap broadband) and it still gives me an 'Incompatible' status. |

Did you really download the client from the link in my Post?
Its the dedicated Test-server client. Got the same version number but there are small changes which will allow this build to connect to the test-server.

Can you identify what exactly is different from your TQ install ? It would be really pathetic to download a 2.4 GB full install if the only difference is a version number in an .ini file.
P.S. Start -> Run -> cmd fc /b tqinstallpath\*.* sisiinstallpath\*.* (optionally, add > somepath\diff.txt at the end so you have it recorded)

I already tried to change a few .ini files to be able to connect to the Testserver. But this will only throw out a "checksum mismatch" error for those files and you won't be able to connect to the server.
I also tried to copy all "non-content" files (around 60MB) from the test-build to the normal build. But then it throws you this checksum error on all the changed files. So i guess the most easy way is to download the full testserver build. I know its pain in the ass with a slow connection but well. At least there is a solution :)

It's a pain in the ass our end, but it's also a pain in the ass at CCP's end, since they must be seeing dozens or more of unnecessary downloads of the full Singularity build when probably 2 minutes of work from someone at CCP who is actually paying attention would fix the problem completely.

Hooray for 2+MB/sec download speed. Boo for 7z arc inside exe. Well, the full client works. Started "debugging" file compare differences... will take a while.
So far, the only two different files found are "common.ini" and "manifest.dat". Tried copying that second one over ? Will post other differences encountered when it's done.

So, TQ and SiSi are NOT using the same build after all?
CCP: Any plans of updating your website? Or should we just refrain from visiting the official Eve Online Website when looking for information regarding Eve Online? I just checked, it still claims that TQ and SiSi use the same build, while obviously it doesn't.
Why put any such information there anyway? Useful information can be found in the forums only, so why bother? |

Well actually it IS using the same Build.
The problem seems to be, that the Tranq Build is not allowed to connect to the Singu server. I guess this is a security feature (if you got changed files on your pc your not able to connect anymore).
So yes, the information on the Page is wrong but well. Its the test-server. As long as Tranq running fine, there are other Priorities then changing a text on a website (if they even know about this yet.)
Reading a Forum as Dev. is a pain in the ass and its realy hard to filter out the necessary information.

I was actually using the test client yesterday no problems, today when i try to log in i get incompatible prot. but, the version someone stated here on test was 6.12.88947 but both, the test client and singu client show 6.12.88974. Downloading the offline installer or just reinstalling full test client does not help, it still keeps telling me its wrong protocol.

It's called work for a reason. :)
I've still tried every solution offered, and still get the same result. Impressively unimpressed with the CCP's lack of acknowledging there's a problem. I'm fine if they wanna say "Hey... it's the test server, no one but you gives a ****." I'd lol, and get back to TQ.... which, sadly is a lot more time consuming to test fittings. _____________________ Threat Level Midnight

Bolded the funny part for you.
Only the second time in the space of a week the Sisi has been unavailable to the community for testing, and despite all the feedback here not a single official comment on what the hell is going on.
And that's after releasing a patch that wouldn't even boot for half their playerbase, more than a week after guys testing on Sisi told them it wouldn't boot.
Getting pretty ****ed off with this level of non-service and non-information tbh.

So CCP released the 88974 -> 89877 patch ( TQ to Sisi patch ), and I was pretty happy , finally a patch !
I downloaded it and proceeded to upgrade my Sisi install folder ( copy of my TQ client ) and after the download when the patch is about to be applied I got this :
Completing the EVE Online Update 88974->89877 Setup Wizard Client files don't match the files in the update. This indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE Online.
My TQ client works fine so CCP , what the hell is going on ??? That's really getting old. And no , I won't download the full client since where I live we got an upload+download quota of 15 Gb/month and speed really sucks ( 50-60 kb/sec max ).

Seconding the above poster."Files don't match, installation maybe corrupt etc etc"
Seriously, straight copying the TQ folder and redownloading the entire SISI client both failed for me.And now the client is supposedly corrupt with the new build?Lulzy indeed. |
