EVE Online Apocrypha 1.2.3 deployment is now live and Tranquility is open for business. This deployment focuses on a critical fix that was having an effect on players jumping through stargates along with some other fixes.
We would encourage anyone who is experiencing any game play issues to submit a bug report and we will investigate the matter as soon as possible.

Edited by: Sky Grunthor on 26/05/2009 13:53:18 Warp disrupt bubbles will now keep you from warping out of them, but they no longer grab someone out of warp. We tried this several times. If a bubble is on a gate and you warp to the gate at range (say 50km) you will conveniently land on the gate at that range.
If you warp to a bubbled gate at 0km, you will land on the edge of the bubble, just like always. If there's an in-line bubble and you warp to the gate at 0km, you will get caught off the gate on the edge of the bubble. However, if you warp at any range to a bubbled gate, you will not get caught by the bubble.

Warp disrupt bubbles no longer pull ships out of warp if they warp in at range (30-100km). We tested this extensively- if a ship warps to a bubbled gate at range it is no longer pulled into the bubble.
You still cannot warp out of the bubble, and if you warp to a bubbled gate at 0km you'll get caught on the edge of the bubble. However, if you warp to the gate at range (30-100km) you'll land at range, nowhere near the warp disrupt bubble.

Is there a reason for this new feature?
Or did CCP just fixed something what was not broken (again)?

the warp bubble bug has been happening for over a week since the last patch. For some reason no one has acknowledged it nor made any attempt to fix it.

CCP,....is there going to be any fixes for the sound issue? Its kind of dishartening to go into a mission and NOT HERE A DARN THING,..NO GUNS,..NO MISSILES,..NO SWOOSH,..NO BOOM! NOTHING! I was in mission the other night and even the bud that i was in with commented about it,..."Kind of quite huh" I remember a year ago when i got into the game, i really liked the sound effects, really made the game exciting, interesting. One of my corp mates listens to other music when hes in mission, only because he cant here the sound effects, I cant count the number of ships that he has lost due to his attention being drawn to other things other than the mission, because hes listening to other music outside or EVE. Kmon guys,......I know you guys have other more pressing things,...but get the sound right,...OK! Thanks -=+>xXx<+=- What was that,....Did i here a ship go POP! Naaaaa,...i herd a PIN DROP!

Upon logging in my alt whom is docked in a station, the station did not load. It's a black screen with all the normal station windows on top, including my items and ships and the station control panel thingy.
If I'm able to reproduce the issue I will try to figure out how to submit a detailed bug report. I am hoping though this is just a one time glitch due to the patch and if I restart it it will be fine.

Warp disruption spheres no longer pull you from warp...such fail CCP.
Please say this is a bug and not some new "feature". There is already more then enough ways for people to avoid any sort of combat in your PVP orientated game....

Here's an update to the new warp bubble behavior. We tested this with interdictors, HICs, and mobile warp disruptors- if you warp in at range to the bubble you will land at that range.
The odd thing is that if you warp to a gate at 50km, and there's an in-line bubble 20km off the gate in your direction, you end up 70+ km from the gate. It looks as if the warp calculation is now made off the edge of the bubble instead of the gate that you're warping to.

It seems that the patch cannot be applied to the client provided by Steam. At this point I'm reading a constant corruption issue though the client worked fine straight from Steam prior.
Does CCP send its patches to ValvE's distribution servers? -----

Oh no, not again....
Anybody having the crc or checksum crap again? I'm nervous to DL the new update..... I still haven't heard from CCP about the last time....
Last patch, (and all patches since apochrypha came out) I'd get an error message about the patch..... then have to download the full client over and over and over to get it to work.
I don't even know at this point how many days I've paid for and not been able to play.
So again, before patching..... anybody had this issue again?

1 for 2 had that problem tho it didn't blast the client, i'm on linux/wine tho maybe that why, i'd recommend the manual patch download
also asked me to reboot after patching....riiiiiight, why would you EVER have to reboot a computer due to a an update to a video game....no valid reasons exist, luckily wine gets me around that rubbish

not directly a wine issue, this occurred on a client for whom the in client update bricked (appeared to have downloaded a corrupt version of the patch yet still tried to install it, CRC anyone?). had to install a manually downloaded patch on that client...other clients patched fine in game.
its dxdllreg.exe that is trying to request a reboot indicating that something in the patch bricking tripped off a check up on DX thus asking for a reboot...
i would assume the same could happen on any OS if the patcher tries to apply a corrupted patch

I can confirm this.
there was a mobile small warp disrupt bubble (T1) 90km on a gate in 0.0
I warped to the GATE at 100km (using right click, stargates, select gate, warp to 100km) and landed ~190km from the GATE due to the bubble.
It seems like now instead of calculating landing distance on edge of a pull/tractor bubble within range of a warpable object it simply takes the bubble and use that as if it WAS the object you warp to.
summation: code that replaces the celestial object as warpto point still works. code that overrides the distance you selected when warping to celestial object with the distance that places you on edge of bubble DOES NOT WORK.
ps. this bug showed up in the previous TQ version, haven't tested if it shows up aswell in 1.2.3 but guessing from previous posts I assume it does. __________________________________________________

I can confirm that we are working on the issues related to Warp Disruption Bubbles listed in this thread. They are not new, we became aware of them internally on the 19th, and we are working hard on producing a quality fix that does not affect anything else adversely. As you can guess warping and warp to distances are a rather big system in EVE, bubble or no bubble, so we want to make sure everything is OK with the fix. We in QA are testing this at the moment and, assuming it passes, will release it sometime very soon. (No need for a TM on that one, we're on it.)

Sry CCP, but... I live in 0.0.... the first issue with gates were horrible. I cant believe, that these problem wasnt recongnize by the QA Team.... but, ok, maybe serverload was a key to this problem...
But now the warp bubble problem...
Seriosly... the QA Team also needs a patch...

From an RP perspective the new bubble mechanic is exactly what one would expect! The warpdrive of a ship locks onto a gravitational well, and we have to assume that a warp disrupt probe creates such a well that masks the normal gravitational well of a gate, to lure ships onto it.
So instead of locking onto the gate the ship warpdrive locks onto the probe. So if you say you want to warp in at 100 km you will warp in to 100 km from the gravitational well your ship believes is the gate, but is actually the probe
Just saying...

Probes screen
Launching scan probes the Probes in space dont automatically update and scan results freeze, to get an update u need to click the directional screen and then come back to the system scanner screen
Quite annoying when u do a lot of scanning.
Also 2 probes in space and goto jump thro stargate or womrhole the normal warning screen do u wish to call probes in isnt showing up lost 2 probes before because of that
And ETA on fix ?

Build: STEAM (Updater Reports: 88974) Systems Affected: Any Using Steam-Installed Client (WinXP x86, WinVista Ultimate X86 tested)
Problem: Quote: Completing the EvE Online Update 88974->89883 Setup Wizard
Client files don't match the files in the update.
This indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE Online.
Client is able to connect to the server with the proper protocol despite the failure notice. No crashes noted yet.
Steps to Recreate:
- Download EvE Online Apocrypha via Steam. Verify integrity as a measure to ensure you have the current build available by Steam.
- Run EvE Online via Steam
- Allow the autopatcher to propagate, download and install the current patch.
- Select finish at the failure notice, and restart EvE Online
- Login
As I said before, I'm not sure exactly whether this is a problem or not, or if it's just the fact that some of the files are Steam-specific. One may say "Just get the official client", however I bought a second account for the steam distribution, and even then patching shouldn't be that much of an issue for an MMO seeing as how it isn't protected by Steam.dll.
A copy of this has been submitted via the bugreport system, however feedback on this issue would be useful for other Steam distribution users. -----

I don't see this on EVE under Linux/Wine.
There are plenty of probe bugs which are still present - for example, game freeze for a few seconds when the 'recall all probes' button is pressed, scan shadows obscuring probes (completely on low-end systems), three probes giving two locations for a site only showing one result on the map - which I haven't seen acknowledged anywhere yet.
To the guy who said CCP should stop fixing bugs, er, no.

Since the patch, I have encountered increased issues with the sound engine during probing in the system map. When launching probes and analyzing, the sound tends to break with a crack from, using either left or right sound direction, once it even stopped completely.
Closing the system map and rotating the camera view will force the sound back to the normal stereo functionality, but going back into the system view tends to break it again. This has happened before the patch only when jumping to another system with the system map open.
Guess the new sound engine needs some more debugging. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Issue since 1.2.1 and through to 1.2.3
Some ships, that JUST entered already loaded grid (warped/jumped in), are NOT shown in overview.
They DO SHOW after warping out and back, but it suck so much to be shot by invisible enemy ships, or tackled by invisible interceptor.
Sometimes only people "new" to grid can not see targets that just entered grid, numerous occasions when half of fleet sees target at 10km, half of them - not seeing.
Turning on all brackets does not help at all.

I have The Same problem as this, and i run the steam version of eve. I received this error message
'Completing the EvE Online Update 88974->89883 Setup Wizard
Client files don't match the files in the update.
This indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE Online.'
Exactly the same problem I had last night. I even tried deleting my cache and settings after downloading the update and rebooting before install. Exact same error on the STEAM client.
It sucks as I'm no longer able to get a working client from the website, so the only solution is to wait a few days after patch until the new client build is available on the steam servers.
Seriously - someone must know what is going on with this auto-update process. Enough people have reported the problem....

There's no reason that the auto-update ought to fail on the Steam build. Doesn't necessarily require to be up-to-date on the Steam distro servers in the first place. Just make sure to have the latest expansion on there, and let the player update after. -----

Originally by: Abrazzar Since the patch, I have encountered increased issues with the sound engine during probing in the system map.
Yep, same problem here. I have this issue since 1.2 patch.

It shouldn't but it does - and there's plenty for complaints about it on other boards.
I believe STEAM does host the full client file (the last build installed and ran without any update process - it didn't install apocrypha 1.0 and then patch to 1.2) but it takes a few days before the updated full build is available.

Thank You CCP Hypnotic, this short reply answers the question and informs everyone why its important and what CCP are doing about it, a lot of information sadly lacking from CCP this year.
Please take over as official communication guy and write more!!!

+1 for this one. It's about time this one gets at least some CCP recognition. Where once we heard missiles launch, lasers beam and explosions, we only get humming (from some module I assume) and pops and speaker clicks :(.

I am unable to access any assets and am stuck in space with no menus:
Ship Hanger empty, Item hanger empty, cargo hold of interceptor empty (should contain spare crystals)
Assets window shows no assets in universe (it never finishes loading)
Undocked to see if session change would help and immediately CTD. I now have no sub menus which allow me to dock or warp and no ui buttons to perform those actions either. So I am stranded in space :s
Repeated relogs have had no effect.

Dont know if anyone else has noticed a drop in frame rate recently. I used to get 120 fps running a single client or 60 - 80 fps running 2 clients on the same machine.
Since the last patch I now get 60 - 70 fps running one client and ~30 fps when running 2.
Not the best figures for a 2.8Ghx Core 2 Duo, 3Gb RAM and dual ATI HD 3870x2 cards in crossfire.
My 3DMark06 scored hasn't changed so its not the display driver.

I logged on today, and as I was travelling through a few systems, I stopped to check some wrecks which appeared (both on overview and in space) to contain items. Upon opening the wrecks there was nothing inside. I relogged and checked again, and the problem was persistent.
I also talked to some nearby pilots who reported having the same issue.
I am not sure if this is an issue of items not showing up inside the wrecks, or if the wrecks are falsely showing up as "full".

Since this last release I get constant freezzes and lost connections on every second jump. Tried both ports - problem is marginally better on the unofficial port. On 26000 it looses the connection on every jump.
If I stay exclusively in Map view I can do about 8-10 hops in a row, but eventually the when it starts dropping the connection again it drops maybe 3 times in one warp through space between gates.
Unplayable now - so I have switched to a 16 day training skill and will probably stay offline for a while. When apocrypha first came out I was getting this, but then one of your patches fixed it, but now it is back again with avengence. I am coming up for renewal soon, but if this keeps happening I think I will not be renewing. Shame, really, but I the unreliability of the connection makes doing anything but transport and skill training too risky.

seems as this patch scrwed up all sov upgrades by one day!
2009-05-26 < this day has no "regular" sov upgrades. however, if you check the sov upgrades 2 weeks earlyer, there are a number of systems that should have gained an sov upgrade at this day!
from there on all sov upgrades are delayed by one day, as you can see here for example: sov 1 kicked in at 2009-04-28 sov 2 kicked in at 2009-05-12 (14 days after sov3) sov 3 kicked in at 2009-05-27 (15! days after sov 2)
another example: we (exe) onlined a couple of towers in z-xx - towers went online at this times: z-xx 2-1 2009-04-26 17:32:41 z-xx 3-1 2009-04-26 17:31:20 z-xx 4-1 2009-04-26 17:34:07 this means sov 1 should kick in 7 days+1 dt after we onlined them, wich happend. sov 2 should be 2 weeks later, wich happend. just sov 3 didnt kick in 2 weeks after sov 2.
anyone able to confirm this?

I dont know if anyone else is having this issue,..bu ther eit is. Ive noticed that when im doing a good bit of jumping thru the gates, the sound of the gate will follow me,...Ill be docked in station and ill still here the gate,...Ill be mining , and the gate sound will be there. To get rid of that anoying sound, i have to reboot. Aside from the sound board not working as i would expect it to "ie missing sounds from missiles, guns, lasers" I am noticing clicks and other odd hums when in mission and mining. I have reloaded EVE once on both my machines, i run two machines when mining and some times three machines when doing other things, and all three machines seem to do the same thing, so im assuming that its not the machine.
Furthermore, i have had reports from others that they are experiencing the same thing. Theres my two cents,.... -=+>xXx<+=- Fly safe and eat your vegatables

The only issue I seem to be having is when jumping through certain gates the client crashes, the very thing this patch was supposed to sort. Never had the issue before this patch. The only other thing I have noticed is a few gates between caldari and amarr space the gates are invisible or all white, can't actually see the gate textures etc

Bombs are broken.
They don't do damage to ships in the direct area of the explosion proximity if it was launched while that target ship(s) was still in warp, even if it has 1 second left in warp, the bomb don't do any damage.
For example, in a fleet fight you drop a bomb on let's say 10 hostiles at a spot, while you wait for 10 seconds for the bomb to travel and explode, another 100 hostiles warp out at the same spot. Bomb explodes, but damage only 10 hostiles originally at the spot, the other 50 hostiles get NO DAMAGE AT ALL even though they were within the explosion radius of the bomb.

edit: Bug report #81764
As far as I know bombs only do damage if you stay in the same grid as the bomb. I don't think this is how it SHOULD be, but it might be how it IS...
