Lack of pink indeed.
Sorry if anybody allready said it, but it could have been nice to have the number of pilots of different ships under the Battleship Ship Destroyed graph : - Amarr destroyed BS - Gallente destroyed BS - Caldari destroyed BS - Minmatar destroyed BS - Amarr BS pilots - Gallente BS pilots - Caldari BS pilots - Minmatar BS pilots
So we can see also see or calculate the ratios "Loss per pilot" and see how evolved the population since last QEN

What's really striking is that EVE subscriber numbers were stagnating most of 2008, even hemorraging in autumn, only to rebound a little with the winter expansion. This is not good, I don't think EVE ever lost subscribers before. So it was not just by joice that CCP brought the game onto store shelves in March, but by necessity...

That isn't anything new. There have been ups, downs and stagnation before, but the long time trend has been rising. I can't think of anything really interesting that happened in the game in 2008 except lag got nerfed and the UI had a facelift. When I think of hemorraging, I think what has happened with recent MMO launches, where up to 50% of the subscribers have been lost 3 months after the launch. When we start seeing something closer to that, then I'll start to worry.

Thank you for the stats.
I second the request for a comparison of ships lost across Empire, low-sec, and 0.0.
Would also love to see which ships are lost more in which area.
Pretty please?

You should also note what was happening in the worldwide economy around the same time With lots of people suddenly wondering where their next dinner was coming from it's no suprise that sub numbers moved the way they did. People who were considering subbing looked at their money flow, and others who were subbing multiple accounts figured they could do without a hauler alt for a couple months...
Would be much more interesting to see if EVE would lose subs during an economic upswing. That would be noteworthy.

It would be nice to have a vertical line for each of the expansions on the graphs - especially the Faction Warfare expansion, as I'm sure it have affected PvP losses alot.
And data on ship losses in PvE would be nice in a graph for itself. Everyone and anyone claims all over all forums that missioning is so without risk...would be nice to have that confirmed or shamed. Maybe split it into 2 graphs - one versus stupid NPC's and one versus Sleepers if possible.

I was curious about the racial ship comparisons though. Since the numbers are not proportional to the population they represent they are hard to compare to each other. Is it still possible that amarr battleships are really going up in comparison to others if perhaps the total population of amarr battleships has decreased substantially?

Anyone notice that the Minmatar ships destroyed are the least of all? MAYBE that is because they are permanently stuck in the NERF-zone and hence only a few fly them. Give us a reason to fly Minmatar again and stop screwing any advantage they have over the other races.

I'm curious about a ships build/ships destroyed ratio. Wondering if the market is heading for a oversaturation because people don't pop often enough. If that were the case, we'd be having a problem soon. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Graphs about destruction, what's not to love? Who cares about the colours.
Quote: what would you like to see?
Would be cool to see a breakdown of total supercaps (infact all caps) in existence per month or something similar, nothing too revealing that would compromise any specific alliances (nothing geographic for instance) but a simple total would be highly interesting. I'd like to know especially if titan production is outstripping ms production

I'd love to see listing of ships on killmails (aggressors) and ships lost for every class, ideally broken up by race as they were here.
You know, so we can see how many kills were facilitated by a Falcon, and how many kills weren't (directly) facilitated by, say, an Oneiros. Likewise, we can see how many times Falcons died. Cuz, you know, dying Falcons are good.
Huge compilation of data, I know, but you're big kids, you can do it :)
edit: I agree with Mashie Saldana, as well. An average number of aggressors per killmail would be interesting to see. Blobs ftl?

You forget that a large number of subscribers were alt accounts held on from cheap game time cards. 90 days for 450 mil were a great way to keep alts going. 60 days for 680 mil now (lol) is horrible and keeping many people from running large numbers of accounts.

There has been many pro-Amarr tweaks lately. Hence the increasing popularity (and therefore increasing explosion) of Amarr ships. Therefore, there is some evidence that ship performance is positively correlated to ship explosion.
NOW does these graphs means that:
Caldari and Gallente does NOT need a boost?
Its very interesting DESPITE Amarr being ôFOTMö (increasing popularity and ship explosion), that of gallente and caldari did NOT decrease. There has been many complaints about the suckiness of hybrid weapons after the speed-nerf and web-nerf. Are these pre-conceptions or valid arguments? Do we hear more æoutrageÆ AND noise from gallente and caldari pilots since obviously they pilot the most popular ships/race?
Amarr does not need a nerf?
Again, there has been many concern regarding the æubernessÆ of laser weapons. Ignorant pilots want to nerf them to oblivion? Do they have a valid point? Or are they exaggerating?
Minmatar need a boost? Yup, another proof that CCP need to throw a bone at Minmatarà LOL Im sure those same people who want to nerf laser (after YEARS of under-performanceà) will still not agree with projectile weapon boost.

That.
Data for PvP and PvE losses would be interesting.
Even more interesting would be to have the data of NPC assisted kills, i.e. ships lost in PvP where part of the damage was dealt by NPC.

Diagoras, We LOVE graphs too. Could you please supplement the QEN with a couple of pages of automatically generated graphs that are updated on a monthly, weekly, or, dare I say it, daily basis. Maybe have a different day of the week update different graphs. The QEN output has been extremely lacking. We would be happy with the data if we can't get timely analysis. Thank You!

It is very interesting to see the comparison of different races to eachother. Before any useful inferrences on the relative strenghts of battleships can be drawn I would like to see the nubers for each race split into 3 (one for each of the battleship tier). Then you could really see what ships are used and lost in pvp and specualte why.
