I'm working on my drone skills and I'm wondering how some of the skills stack. Drone Interfacing is a 20% bonus and the racial skill bonuses give 2% damage bonus per level to the respective racial T2 drone and so on and so forth.
What about "Combat Drone Operation" which gives a 5% damage boost to small and medium drones: does this apply to T1 drones only?

It applies to all. Using Medium Scouts as an example and all skills at level 5:
Hammerhead I Drone Durability - +~75% HP Combat Drone Operation - +25% Damage Drone Interfacing - +100% Damage
+125% Damage +75% HP
Hammerhead II Drone Durability - +~75% HP Combat Drone Operation - +25% Damage Drone Interfacing - +100% Damage Gallente Drone Specialization - +10% Damage
+135% Damage +75% HP
Considering T2 drones are stronger and do more damage anyway, that % is equivilent to much more than on T1.

Your math is wrong, skills stack multiplicative
Damage = (1 + <DI skill> * 0.2) * (1 + <Race Spec> * 0.02) * (1 + <Combat Drone> * 0.05) So that max would be: 2*1.1*1.25 = 2.75, so that's 175% increase in damage. Not that i would recommend getting the specs to V, i could considder combat drones, but i'm not sure.

As I'm a drone freak / flying gallente/ skilling up for a carrier... I respeced into mem/perception for drone skills.
I have a question though .. why don't sentry drones t2 get the bonus from the racial spec ? I find it totally unfair... what, are they in some way more special than the others? They're still drones from a specific race...

Don't get the bonus because the skill isn't a prereq for them.

Yeah, sentries do not benefit from a couple of the drone skills, and fighters even less.

The drone specilizations work like regular specs, such as rail guns. Railgun spec only gives the items that require it the bonus. i.e. Sentry drones don't require a racial spec of drones, you can use them all by just knowning the skills; They do not benefit from the racial Specs. Would you rather them take Racial Spec 4-5 to use a Sentry drone 2? I am pretty content with my DPS of Sentry drones and content with the low sp Sink to gain access to all damage types and multiple ranges.
Sentry are fine complain about something else.
If you really want more damage just train that AF to 5 or HAC to 5 or BS to 5.

I think also the fact that there is a rig for sentries, Sentry Damage Augmentor I, might be part of it.

Could someone tell me why the drone multiplier doesn't change when you train these skills? Even if drone is under control in space or inside your drone bay.
Is the real number taken to calculate dmg and just not refreshed in "info" tab or the number display in the tab takent for this computing?
For me it's always the starting multiplier you can find in market which is display for my drones. I hope it's really a display bug.
Thx for feedback.
NB : I hate the method used by CCP which modify attributes of an item with your skill ONLY when it's fitted to your ship. Really not helpful. Therefore it could be displayed like materials or manufacturing times needed between parenthesis for base (w/o skill) attrib and the modified not inside to be able to calculate correctly thewhat you need for grid or CPU for example when you try to fit something.

Drones never display their stats with your skills. Just how it is.

I don't know about the others, but DI is definitely not multiplicative. It is simply (<DI skill> * 0.2) |

Perhaps that's how it is, but it should written somewhere for peeps which asking them that question if it's like that.
Otherwise displaying stats of any stuff without needed to equip it on a ship should be implemented to tend to be easiest to fit a ship ingame in my opinion. Or displayed like i've suggested in my previous post.

Umm. Yes it is? What you describe is exactly what is written.....
As for sentries, the argument is that that Sentry Drone Interfacing provides a bonus more or less like any of the other skills (let's say Heavy Drone Ops) and so it's somehow ok that specs don't improve them.
Yeah, not sure I ever followed that line either.
As a drone user with a Stupid(TM) amount of SP invested I could see a handful of new skills dedicated to subcap improvement, but frankly the whole idea is low on my priority list -- and, I assume, CCP's.
