Does the Neural Remap reset when the character is sold or does the time until the next time it can be used go with it? -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:
Players who post are like stars, there are bright ones and those who are dim.

No, it will not reset.
You should check out the stickies in the Character Sale forum or ask in the Skill Discussion forum, both have resources dealing with sales of characters.

No, the neural remap does not reset.
We have not implemented policy that forces players to reveal whether one is available, however, we actively encourage players to add this information in the opening post when selling characters.

Allowing for after sale remap can easily lead to exploit.
Nothing would prevent aggressive min maxers from cross selling characters between their accounts to circumvent the remap cooldown and cut on training times on multiple otherwise stats conflicting skills.

Actually to be completely honest I'd be happy to let people trade their characters back and forth and pay the fee if CCP would agree to bring back 30 day GTCs =P

Mitnal, not that I buy or sell characters because I fell that it somehow shouldn't really be allowed (but that's just my opinion... many, many disagree, obviously :D), just out of curiosity, what would happen if a character set a sell thread for a character and stated that remap was available but it actually wasn't? If the receiving player complained what would be the result?
Also, why not implement a policy on it? It seems to me that whilst scamming is ok in game, whilst trading chars isnt really RL cash, since CCP demand and require oversight, should you not monitor this? How hard can it really be?
I know you're "just" a forum mod and may not be able to make policy ont his but can you tell us what, if any, rules there are over the remap with regards to character selling, or point someone in the direction of this thread who can answer because at some point it is going to happen and it'd be nice if there was an exact policy in place that both sides can understand?

It should be handled the same as any other false statement made by the player selling the character: likely the transaction would be undone. Originally by: Ralara Also, why not implement a policy on it?
Fewer rules for the Forum Moderators and GM's to enforce, and players to worry about.
If the buyer can't be bothered to ask about when the character's attributes were last remapped before buying, then it is obviously not very important to him. Bring it up as an issue after the transaction is complete is not fair to the seller of the character or the GM staff who need to deal with the dispute.
As long as false advertising is not allowed, then the responsiblity should rest on the buyer to ensure that he has all the information he feels is important before making the purchase.
The policy should be simplified down to Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the information advertised about the character is accurate and Buyers are responsible for ensuring that the information advertised covers all of the details important to his desision to purchase. Anything more than that is simply as set of recommended practices and not an enforced policy.

It'd be covered under the current character sales rules anyway. No scams of any kind allowed it says, if you ask whether a remap is available as it provides a certain value to the sale, and the seller says yes, but it turns out the guy was lying through his teeth, that's a scam.
