Making players jump to adjacent or even further systems for combat missions is just stupid and a total waste of time when the player could just warp to the site or activation gate and get started within a few seconds of accepting the mission. It's just utterly pointelss and imo missioning would be a good deal more bearable this way.

Edited by: Valandril on 28/05/2009 21:12:26 Spreading server stress across multiple systems so mission hubs won't die from overload. Also makes missioning a lot less safe in times of war. Why not just have a "Complete Mission" button... skip straight to the end and collect your reward? ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |

Don't mind having to make two or three jumps, adds a little bit of in-game realism to the fact that you choose a mission and that the targets in that mission don't always have the luxury of being in the same system as you.
Also as mentioned, it reduces lag in a single system by spreading it out. In addition, it makes high-sec/low-sec border agent more interesting by sending players to the other side.
Missions are already breeze, why make it even easier?

Because some players strangely don't like wasting 2 minutes per mission doing something unnecessary. I understand the argument about lag, so how about this: every jump you have to make increases the payoff of the mission by 15%.

Originally by: Tentacle Monster ...imo (high sec, risk free) missioning would be a good deal more bearable profitable this way (for me and the rest of the carebear alts grinding for isk)
fixed. - In essence, any combat related activity involving damage has been 'speed nerfed' to just take 6 times longer with a predetermined outcome coined balance by CCP. |

You're choosing to grind for ISK by running missions. Live with the consequences of your decision.
If mission runners don't need to move systems to do combat missions, should jump-capable ships not need to use cyno beacons to jump? And perhaps titans shouldn't need to carry fuel for their DD?

hmm yes, now excuse me while I go to painstakingly recoup the 30m I lost over the duration of a few moments by accidentally wandering into a gatecamp a few minutes after I decided to do something different from missioning. It'll only take a few days.

Oh my god you have to go one jump away? OHNOES! Seriously, don't be so lazy. If everyone in Motsu/Dodixie/any mission hub did all their missions in the system with the agent the lag would be insane.

I would have only given 1/10 for this troll but since you got some interesting reactions I'll let you off the hook with a 3/10, simple but efficient.

if you find missioning so unbearable and are far too lazy to jump to another system why do it? fail

infact... why dont we just implement the idea that it would be better to just be able to accept missions at a single deadspace in one system.
"accept mission" rats spawn, shoot kill, hand in mission... rinse repeat... far easier that way... because docking IS JUST STUPID AND POINTLESS WHATS THE POINT WHEN YOU CAN JUST GET ON YOUR CELL PHONE AND CALL YOUR AGENT AND BE LIKE "SEND THE ****ING MISSION TO ME YOU LAZY ****!!!!"

I know why you want this OP. Missioning in 0.5 space and not have to worry about being sent down to low sec.
Eh, howabout, *no*!

Try a little manufacturing.
The most efficient loop I can construct to service all my Gallante Space markets is 27 jumps.
If I add a little Caldari and Minmatar space to my rounds it goes up to 67 jumps.
Pardon me if my heart doesn't bleed for a missioner asked to make one jump.
