1.) Ambulation in Station (finally!) 2.) Planetside Activities (owning plantations, running missions, etc.) 3.) Multiple Screen Playing. Or if the technology ever comes around, Virtual Reality headsets. 4.) Expanded Galaxy/ Universe. 5.) Tech 4 and Tech 5 Ships }8^P 6.) NPC Warfare Expanded. Not just NPC pirates, but whole senarios based on NPCs (ex: Sleepers) waging war against the EVE Empires. 7.) Greater development with Jovians. 8.) More ships to buy and modules to make. 9.) More skills to train up.
BTW - Nooma my girl, I don't hate Minmatar. I love them! I think everyone should own at least one or two...

If CCP teamed up with Vuzix like FSX did, I'd be in heaven.
Then filling your bathtub with jelly and playing eve with their VR headsets would be actual immersion.

NAH!
I dont think the playerbase is that dedicated. In 10 years there will be plenty of MMOs on the Super-Internet to choose from.

1. Chribba eventually goes totally insane and begins assaulting his neighbors with a flashlight - thinking they are veldspar asteroids, he is eventually detained by dedicated police officers with large amounts of mace and several tasers.
2. In response to this incident FOX News runs a segment vilifying EVE, it backfires and EVE subscribers shoot above one million in a matter of months.
3. The minority government of Iceland collapses, CCP uses it's newfound monetary base to set up a new government. A year later the FCC closes down FOX in a rage of controversy, several political analyists blame the Corporate nation CCP.
4. Istvaan is elected to the fourth CSM as chairman. During the "Age of Istvaan" at least two developers are put into intensive psychological therapy. During a new expansion miners find, to their horror, asteroids scream, bleed, and spam CAOD. Several EVE players commit suicide.
5. During the 10th anniversary of EVE being released to the general public a bomb goes off at CCP's primary server farm, several engineers die and a dozen are injured. Evidence is found suggesting Blizzard funded radical left wing elements behind the attack. The FBI refuses to take action and Interpol remains silent on the matter.
6. CCP hires Private Military Contractors to assault Blizzard's Corporate HQ, thus beginning the first Great MMO War. Large stretches of the Pacific coast of North America are rendered unhabitable and Iceland is attacked with biological and chemical weapons multiple times. In the end, Blizzard is annihilated by a retaliatory nuclear strike.

I suspect EVE will not exist, if it does still then that will be a very sad state for PC gaming. EVE 2 ok but just an upgraded EVE would suck royally.

Nubs all of you, don't you know the world ends in 2012? I say let's all have a huge battle royale in Jita on Christmas 2011. Then again, the world would be over before anyone could recover from that lag...

^^ This. The downfall of Chribba will be the new begning to Eve's player base. CCP will replace the monument in amarr with the avatar of Chribba (post abulation).

Those declaring Eve's demise are premature, statistically Eve Online has never been healthier in terms of player subscriptions - quite an achievement after six years online.
Regarding the ten-year out-look, based on the past six successful years I'd expect Eve to be up and running, whether as an expanded version of the current game (new UI, inevitably upgraded graphics, more expansions, etc ) or as a sequel (Eve II or "Eve III - Return to Sol").
Despite global economic woes, gaming remains popular and lucrative - in fact in times like these more people just want to have something they can escape into from time to time, so I don't foresee economic crises spelling the end for Eve unless CCP gets gobbled up by EA or something equally as disasterous!
No, with a solid and lucrative product like Eve, and one that has a firmly esablished "niche" (that is actually a growing "niche"), the application of a sensible business model and with care, and assuming no unforeseeable disasters (like an ELE, or John Smedely taking over as CCP CEO...), I think Eve has a long and bright future and will be around for us to play in ten years time, either as a greatly expanded and revamped Eve or as Eve II - I care not as long as it's as much fun as it is now.

If you had said "What do you think Eve will be like in 11 years?" I would have said that they probably would have probably just gotten around to testing a patch that fixes lag in faction warfare.

10x bigger than it is right now system-wise. Mostly in lowsec/NPC 0.0
roughly 100-130k players peak.
Local set to constellation mode, and delayed, with tools for alliances to survey a system better.

in 10 years earth as we know it will be gone and mankind has started to colonise other planets . They will be split into 4 factions , each controling vast amounts of space . A war will erupt between the french speaking faction and the chinese looking faction and the hood wearing faction will have to deal with a massive revolt of their slaves
hmm , does this sound strangely familiar to anyone else ?

10 Years is a long time. Possibilities I can see are;
- Ambulation gets released and CCP spend substantial time filling it out with Gambling, Bars and customisable personal spaces. Ambulation becomes a success, earning the title of "Second Life in Space with Stunning Graphics" and attracts legions of subcultures from Second Life. Pod-pilots refuse to accept the existance of the "S&M Crowd in Space" or "Furries in Space" Corporations.
Thankfully, these corporations are perpetually wardecced.
However, EVE becomes two games and people cry out for combat in stations - stating that "If people won't undock, at least let me stab them in the buttocks with a butter knife."
Ambulation brings EVE its first game related death, where a wellknown, successful CEO commits suicide in real life after betting away his entire corporate fortune with a pair of Queens. There is a funeral event, and Pod-pilots call out that "EVE Gambling PVP is hardcore."
On the following patch day, Gambling is nerfed and has a monetary cap of 500 million ISK per bet. Massive uproar follows, but EVE marches on.
OR
- EVE dies, after another mighty nerf from the CCP crew causes the game to break beyond comprehension. The only ones left are Miners - who are selling Tritanium for 0.5 isk a unit as no one is left to buy. The game drops in popularity under more expansive projects (Infinity, Black Prophecy) and eventually falls in rank as "A game where you can blast rocks and pretend you're actually doing something constructive." EVE eventually shuts down in 2021 with the devs stating that "Chribba has finally mined all the Veldspar, We don't know why - but it just won't respawn".
In its dying days, EVE sees a maximum of 250 players online at any one point. The Goons have left for more popular MMOs, leaving their space to be claimed by single man corporations and mission-grinding fleets. Jita is finally deemed lagless, with only 200 sitting in station.
For the remaining 250 players, EVE goes out with a massive unexpected bang. The EVE Gate goes critical, causing a universe wide supernova that eradicates everything in its path. The last ever intel was from Jita local - "WTS T2 Invulnerability Field - Only 100k!"
