Well whats the most profitable ?
Belt ratting in space where officers and faction rats spawn. Not ninja-ratting , just ratting in relatively safe space with friendly pos in system , so not fitting a cloak.
I can fly amarr HACs , battlecruisers, battleships and down. I do however have fail missle skills so a sacrilige won't really be an option...
I really don't have a clue whats the most effecient ... so could anyone point me in the right direction ?

You can rat in whatever you feel like. Even speed tanks work kinda good (I'm ratting in a speed tank cane at the moment for fun). BS would be the most profitable maybe as you can store some loot and stuff before you have to dock.
Use what you want and what is fun for you (as ratting itself is boring).

Edited by: Renarla on 30/05/2009 17:47:24 I think whatever costs the least for its efficiency would be best, so either a Harbinger or Geddon for you probably. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs. |

meh the cost of the ship isn't really the problem ...
I also have a phantasm .. considering using that altough it only has 500 dps ...

Costs more than a hac without a hac's buffertank and arguably weaker performance than a Zealot. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

Are you looting/salvaging as you rat? Then go for a BC/BS since you'll have utility slots and cargo space. Otherwise...use whatever you feel comfy with.

BS. I like pulseapoc - easy mode for ratting, 900dps at 30km with an mf, 650+ at 90km with scorch. Warp in, align for next belt, shoot rats.

vagabond, Ishtar, Cerberus, Sacrilege make best ratting ships depending on the rats you're fighting, especially if you rat in PVP fits

Edited by: Joachim Kato on 30/05/2009 23:50:54 Get a nighthawk and find a wormhole. Class 1-4 can be solo'd in a Nighthawk and you'll make way more money doing that than ratting. I am averaging 50-70 per Anomaly and more for complexes. Complexes are a little harder and take longer than the anomalys, but pay accordingly. It takes me ~30min to do one anomaly. Not sure if thats fast or slow, but thats 50-75mil in 30min. I am looting and salvaging everything, then just sell it in Jita and voila. Best part is Sleeper stuff doesn't take up much room in your cargo so you don't have to make many runs back and forth. I just doing started doing this a couple weeks ago and i can't believe how much money i'm making. I didn't have much time yesterday so i just did 4 anomalys and one mag site before i went to work and netted 258mil isk. It took me a couple hours. Get "Wormhole Thingy" so you know what kind of class system you're dealing with. It will also tell you the negative and positive effects the system will have on your ship like -27% to shield boost and 55% increase to velocity for example.

Armageddon or Apocalypse. If the rats orbit close go for armageddon. If they're long range rats (like those annoying guristas) then you're probably better off with Apocalypse.
Both are cheap and easy to replace when it comes to battleships... ---

i always rat in HACs.... nice DPS good tanks (pst lol vaga tbh)and you have **** tons of agility and speed so its almost impossible to catch you
Barring that BC or Cruiser (thats right)
I never go BS to hard to get out and to expensive....
TBH ishtar is prolly the best overall ratting ship in the game

I would say spend 2-3 days for Gallente cruiser 3, to hop into a myrm. Drones need no ammo, and you can salvage at the same time.

Use Scorch with geddon work nice at around 50km, for close use Amarr Multis.. Personally always use a BS....you only want to kill battleship rats and the quicker the better..HACS,BC just take far too long..DPS and Tank is what you need..no need for speed tanking...just always align to a planet or something for any quick getaways.

But since you fly Amarr a pvp fit Sacralige (sp?) or a pvp fit pilgrim but that one can be tricky if your not used to that.
But no rat ship beats the Ishtar.

Yup same. Prefer the Harbinger as it's much cheaper and puts out insane DPS. If your ratting on Sansha / Blood use this fit:
[Harbinger, Ratting] Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Medium Armor Repairer II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II 10MN MicroWarpdrive II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M [empty high slot]
[empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot]
Hammerhead II x5
720 DPS, just burn between targets and melt them.

I perfer T1 ships for ratting, cause sooner or later, sombody will come and pop you. Besides a lot of BCs put out decent damage anywayys, and they are more mobile then BSs.
Being caldari I use a Drake a lot, but Harb should perform well.

Chimera.
2x DCU 1, Probe Launcher, Tractor Beam, Salvagerin the highs. Standard combat fit for the mids. I prefer ratting in range of a cyno generator, I can escape easier than any battleship. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

I would use Drake for survival, Harbinger if you can already use it, and an Apocalypse or Abaddon as noted above depending on the types of rats you are trying to farm.
Most efficient way to earn ISK while ratting? Dual box a DPS ship and a salvager. Twice the speed, twice the money.

Edited by: Grista on 01/06/2009 19:06:02 You can rat in anything you want. I tend to use ships like the Typhoon and Dominix so I can salvage while I rat.
Note that if you don't salvage, you're potentially giving up 1/3 of your ratting income or more. You can always go through after a period of ratting and hoover up your wrecks/salvage in a destroyer or something, but I prefer to do it while I rat.
edit: this is somewhat dependent on rat type. Sanshas and Bloods currently yield about the best salvage.

Zealot
Lows: 3 Heat Sinks, 2 Active Hardeners, 1 Medium Armor Rep, energized adaptive Nano membrane Mids: 10mn MWD, 2 cap recharges Highs: 5 HEAVY PULSE II Lasors Rigs 3 CCC
The reason why i think the zealot is the best becouse
A) it uses lasors so no need to be effiecent and worry about Ammo B) its such a powerful ship even without the heat sinks C) its much more agile than a bs so if you go get jumped it very easy to get out and safe before the enemy find you in the belt.
