Guys, I want to buy a new Macbook , 2.0ghz with the 9400m in it. I want to put an extra 2gb ram into it so I can have 4gb. I just waned to ask if I will be able to play eve on it properly. Appreciate it.

Hi ViTkoo,
I bought a macbook half a year ago and been playing eve on it from that time on without too much problems. Im running between 20 and 60fps and when I'm missioning and jumping into a +40 ship mission there is no real delay in the graphics. Only thing I get from time to time is the wrong textures on objects, like sections of my overview-text instead of the effects from the shieldhardner and sometimes the 'mist' in missions is replaced by the overviewtext. But I'm not sure if that got something to do with the 9400m or with eve on a mac. Oh and after the latest patch I get the slow response out of eve when in stations and when warping as well, but that reported to be a mac problem i think.
All in all I would say it very playable, though get a mouse cause even though the touchpad is genious it still kinda sucks to play eve through it.
Hope that helps, lemme know if you need more info (catch me ingame)

Do you mean the macbook pro? IF so... yes... try to sprint for the better of the 2 15" models... you won't be disappointed.
The only complaint I have is it tends to be sluggish on FPS... but its sooo much better looking than my monster of a PC tower. ========================= CEO of Shadow Cadre http://www.shadowcadre.com ========================= Dependable, Honorable, Intelligent, No-nonsense Vote Herschel Yamamoto for CSM! |

Pretty much the same experience on my Macbook - 4gb mem is must I think. Some small glitches in graphics (in missiles and burning ships :) The comp will heat up a bit but ventilation seems to be able to hold below 80 ŚC easily. Main crappy thing is the lack of widescreen aspect in window mode, but that the issue for everyone, not just Macbook. I love the touchpad in EVE! Once I gotten used to it. |

Using SMC Fan Controls and a Thermal Pad keeps it nice and cool for me. ========================= CEO of Shadow Cadre http://www.shadowcadre.com ========================= Dependable, Honorable, Intelligent, No-nonsense Vote Herschel Yamamoto for CSM! |
