Wormholes continually change so you couldn't rely on a wormhole trade route between Jita and Rens.

also as soon as it becomes known a group of pirates would camp the entrance/exists in the wormhole system. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

both jita and rens are high sec so camping them wouldn't do anything.
Your thinking that there would be a wormhole system between them, but no we are talking about a wormhole in jita that jumps straight to rens. high sec to high sec wormhole. ------

Honestly it'd be worth nothing.
To start, you'd say "I have a wormhole between Jita and <somewhere>. How much with you give me for it?" This would be followed quickly with a "Thanks for tip!" as they run off to probe it out for themselves, anybody can do it nowadays.
Second, you're probably one of fifty people probing at one end or the other between Jita and Rens, all looking for the same thing. Once a couple people probe it out, a crapload of ships go through in the first hour, and POOF it collapses.
So good idea, but not much profit potential.

Your assuming that a high sec wormhole would be able to support the mass of a freighter when in reality the best you could probably get through would be an industrial.

Edited by: Gibbetto on 04/06/2009 17:07:02 Edited by: Gibbetto on 04/06/2009 17:06:35 I've thought of doing this. My alliance has settled a wormhole and it gets pretty boring.
We do have a POS in there though so you could run out and buy stuff, warehouse it, and then when the wh moves to someplace advantageous go sell.
But I haven't ever played the market game so I have no idea what to buy where and sell where.
It was fun living in a wormhole when you can see different parts of space without having to travel 20+ jumps to do so.
But I only managed a week before it bored me to tears.

If you're talking in terms of trading, then it would be worth a huge amount. But the chances of getting a wormhole that runs perfectly between the two is unlikely. And judging by some other comments, it would have to be a stable wormhole for it not to colapse very soon. I have never even seen a stable wormhole, so I guess the chances of that are smaller still. You could make millions very quickly though, if a stable wormhole did open up between the two. Until then, all you have got is to fly between them. |
