Hi everyone
I need to know what lines to change or how to set up the Prefs.ini file or another file to give more options or change the game resolutions to something else then the 4 standar options. I'm running Vista now and when i used XP i had a few more options.. Want those back or even more to suit my window mode gaming experience.
Please anyone help me

Use a command line function in your shortcut:
C:\blahblah\exefile.exe -h 1024 -w 768

You have to insert custom resolution into your graphics driver software or the system file associated with it in the windows folders.
Easily googled and easily done, you can also run the command line option above with the target field set to whatever resoltuion you want. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

Ensure that if you are using a TFT LCD, a thin screen, it is set to 60 or 75Hz since many also have a 59 and 74Hz setting which has a limitd resolution available.
If you have a CRT, big fat screen, also reduce the Hz rating to open up mroe resolutions available.
For custom

In my case if i have the game at:
E:\EvE\eve.exe
So in the Shortcup properties on the target i type:
E:\EvE\eve.exe -h 1024 -w 768 or E:\EvE\eve.exe -h 1600 -w 1050
( the last one is the highest my screen can handel)
But any of this settings isnt getting the game into anything else then its at with no changes. have also try other -h and -w with no luck changing the resolution of the game.. What i'm i doing wrong?

Edited by: Lork Niffle on 02/06/2009 13:41:51 It appears that you have lost you original 60Hz setting, and unless you are able to get that back the screen will not be able to supposedly supprot any other than its native resolution.
CCC -> ATI Displays -> Monitor -> Refresh Rate Override. And put in 60, there must also be an option in the CCC to allow custom set resolution, since i do not use the CCC i cannot tell you how to do it, Google, custom resolution in CCC.
EDIT : run the EXEfile.exe deeper in the eve folder with those options. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

Nothing, these switches aren't programmed into EVE so it won't do a single thing, just like you said.
What has been rumored to bring back resolutions in your list is running eve in windowed mode. Go to windows's desktop resolution changing window, change the desktop resolution while runnin EVE in windowed mode, and then switch back to the resolution normally used on your monitor. This might or might not bring back the resolution list in your EVE client, might be worth a try though. _

The screen info i guess is stored in the pc.dat file that is in the settings folder. As i copy past in that file from my XP install it seems to remember what settings i usually had. An setting i dont have on the options of what resolutions i get in the game.
As fast i try another resolution it dosent have the old one i got from XP. ITs kina painfull to always copy past that file from my XP folder to Vista install.
There shoud be some way of getting more then the standard options.. SO how do i get that?.. any idea??????
