The header says it all.
JCing already needs 3 conditions to succeed - pausing your skill training, leaving your ship (not necessarily in that order) and then selecting a clone to jump to (after you actually installed one in a station, that is, or at least went there and left it in it).
However, the section requiring you to pause skilling, with added lag and nuisance, just cuts your skilling time by 10-15 seconds every time you JC if you don't bother to open your queue screen and work it out of there. But why should I open that when I'm going to JC? Why not allow me to just pause the skills from the appropriate screen? There's enough room for it there anyhow.
'Nuff said.

Actually, there is mechanics in place already that adjusts your training time when you get podded with implants. Similar mechanics could be implemented for clonejumping, eliminating the need to manually pause training in the first place.

I agree, and even better, why couldn't the process automatically pause before and restart training after the actual jump. That way, loss of training time should be minimal.

Agreed. If we get podded and the game can recalculate training times, why not when we JC.

I've quoted the last post, but I'm basically answering to all of the above. I believe (not without a shadow of a doubt, but still...) that CCP won't introduce automatic deactivation of skilling (albeit in a case where it is obligatory, like being podded, which also includes checking if the medical clone's up to date) for 2 reasons:
1) Minimize the risk for skilling being automatically deactivated due to a bug. 2) As I more-than-hinted above, it's a safeguard for jump cloning. So people will be as aware as possible that they're going to choose something they won't be able to reverse for 24 hours (both because of reallocation and of changing a set of implants).
And I was hoping for more signs, tbh. I guess ideas such as these are much less exciting than a new nuke or ship to deploy it.
