for the last time a crap ton of EHP in EFT does not mean you are invulnerable. CCP did not mean for T3 cruisers to be uber pwnage they were designed as interesting and new highly adaptive ships that can fill unique roles. But the guy who spent a billion isk fitting his ship and took 15,000 damage in his 1.5 bil isk ship was not uber pwn. the guy who plate tanked faired much better and was taking damage from more people. Which is a side point that repping isnt as good as a plate tank vs. more than one person in PvP but is okay for a mission. Reality check to all of you with the giant epeen isk sinks that are all that t3 cruisers currently all, you die just as easy as everyone else.

So you're saying that plates are better than reps? I'm sure nobody knew that one already

first off obviously the guy who spent a billion isk fitting his 1.5 bil isk ship didnt realize plates were better for pvp than reps.
And second of all outnumbered is not an instant loss, my point was that they don't tank that much damage. and yeah i might have double posted, i was too lazy to find whatever post that was from.

Well obviously he wasn't tanking, you had a Curse neuting his cap while 5 other people were attacking him.
This doesn't take a genius to figure out..
edit; tanking with reppers may not be as good, but it's definately incredibly more fun. Guess which fact do you think I (and others) care about more? |

I dont see the point of the op..
If u saying 6 ships can take down T3 cruisers, thats pretty obvious, well you could do that with even much less. But if u mean their current price exceeds their performance by a large margin then you're totally right...
Also ditto on the EFT/EHP comment, I would suggest EFT warriors to think up scenarios and find the right ship and setup for the roles. Forget about your own survivability (any focus fire will kill u any day of the week). EVE has grown out of the solo game long ago, think as a gang.
T3 ships are not meant to be solo pwn mobiles, hell no ship will ever be a solo pwn mobile in EVE. T3 ships, as their class name suggests, are strategic elements needed in the combat scenarios, I mentioned above, to succeed.

Seems like neither of these knew wtf they were doing and would have died to the first crappy gang that came along. What's your point?

1st set-up is just an affront, the second set-up isn't a pvp fit.
As for a reality check, I've got a loki and I'm bringing up my skills for it, I have no doubt what it is and isn't capable of, and it certainly isn't a be all and end all solo-pwn/fleet support titan in a cruiser hull.
The only epeen here is the one being waved with the "look we've killed two T3 ships" flags tied to it.

Being rich is usually an indication that you suck at PvP. -- DEVS get multiple CPUs/Cores per system and all will be forgiven.

Haha yeah. I think that one bought the Legion with his savings and strapped whatever he had on his hangar to it.
Originally by: David Devant 2nd was obviously caught plexin...
Plexing with a 2000+ active DPS tank towards EM/Kinetic? For starters, what rats do EM/Kinetic damage? Besides that, neut towers (they do exist in plexes that require such a massive tank, right?) would completely ruin the whole setup. To top it off, he probably had something like 250-350 DPS. Very powerful indeed.
Either way, if it's true, that's probably the worst plexing ship I've ever seen.

mhhh maybe the guy with 4 T2 hardeners could fit 3x EANM + 1x DCU II
a guy with the skills to fly t3 cruiser should have all compensation skills at IV or V! you will have better resistances with the fitting EANM DCU combo than with 4 hardeners (and this isn't using a faction EANM)

gursistas 10/10 plexes have citatel EM torps at the end. So that woudl NOT be a bad damagge type tank for a gurista plex.

With a 140 m2 sig and decent base resist, I don't think it matters, tbh. Still, considering where he was killed, that's probably what he was doing anyway.
Doesn't stop it from being a crappy ass setup.

I totally agree with the OP.
Strategic Cruiser are well named because you need a good strategy to use them. I'd say you need to be stealthy and crafty. And there is more to this than just simply fitting a cloak. The NEW M.Corp Data Hub - Check it out! |

^^ The most important insight in this thread.
HAM fit: pve fit... those always die very quickly to pvp fits. not much you can do about it.
laser fit: the guy is just a complete idiot who should never had been let near a t3 ship. I'd probably get a better result hitting "fit to active ship" on random modules in my hangar with my eyes closed.

Holy Moly, that 'pvp' fit is more fail than I expected possible from a character that can fly/buy a T3 ship...
Now that guy with the tractor beam fitted got hardcore ganked...poor guy, it's a sexy NPC fit =(

I have 1 T3 ships.. I'm fully aware of how it attracts blobs to her... And I'm fully aware above 3 ships will kill me easily... Anyway I know a can kill a gang of a curse / falcon / deimos... Now you can't say it will work most of other ships out there... My e-peen ends here.
Reality check:
1-Btw an active tanked AB AF can tank me probably..(check)
2-About that dieing easily stuff , FFS this is why we play eve in the first place, so our lvl60 stuff can be killed by 6 lvl1 stuff.. If we want untouchable stuff we go play some other game...I say lvls so you can understand mentality about your wrong statement.. We know we can DIE
And actually that's why T3 brings back all the fun (adrenaline rush) to pvp. I mean come on I have bils in wallet so how I can be excited about same old pilgrim ganks on hulks... (E-peen again)
