Gonna start training for HACs for PvP pretty soon and was wondering what Amarr HAC I should be using and why. This ship will be mainly for low-sec solo work. Any construtive input would be greatly appreciated. |

I don't like the Zealot for Solo work as it doesn't have a drone bay or a utility highslot, which translates into trouble dealing with tacklers. |

In my humble opinion Zecriliege is the best.
Fake Edit: otoh I also hear good things about a Sacrilot
But seriously, for solo Sacriliege is probably better

For solo I would go with a sac. You can get a very nice tank while doing decent dps. Zealot doesn't really work for solo work as well, as its a lot more tank or gank, not both. |

For solo low-sec PVP you definitely want the Sacrilege, as it can tank sentry fire fairly easily and more importantly doesn't die instantly to frigates that get close to it, which the Zealot has huge, huge problems doing. |

Well I guess thats that. Sac wins it. I kinda figured it would but I wanted some other opinions. Thanks a bunch.
My only problem now is that I'm gonna have to train missles... |

If you don't want to train missiles, you can also look at the Navy Omen, which removes many of the Zealot's flaws by adding a drone bay and a utility high-slot.
Of course, you're looking at spending more money (not a huge amount more, mind you), and the fact that it is faction makes it especially attractive. But if you fight carefully, it's worth considering.

Alternatively if you're more for the kite at range with Scorch style of fighting, consider a Phantasm - it's about 2x the price of the Zealot or Navy Omen at 200 mil, but it's like a Zealot with better tracking, no wasted range, a better tank, and frigate defense. It is, however, considerably slower than the Zealot (about 200-300 m/s slower with MWD which is considerable).
And yes, you're correct in that the Zealot is massively better than the Sacrilege for fleets. In fact as long as there's maybe 2-3 other people in gang, I'll bring a Zealot over a Sacrilege, but that's just my preference. |

Zealot is a decent sniper boat for large fleet fights, it does well as a support ship as well, orbiting around 30k pumping out dps into targets, fun for gate camps and other engagements - but fails solo as it has a bad tank. You also have to be careful with tacklers.
Sac is good for solo-pvp and war dec situations. Just please dont try to engage and tank gate guns in low sec with it. |

sac for solo , zealot for all things gang related either in pulse + buffer tank or beam and range.
and the zealot makes nice bait for AF's as people think it can't deal with them. |

the sacrilege is an incredible little ship.
just look at this setup:
5x Heavy Assault, or Heavy
1x afterburner / microwarpdrive 3x whatever you like.
2x medium armor rep 3x BCS or more tank.
2x CCC.
3x light drones to flavour.
and it's still pretty much capstable. I haven't met many other ships that can comfortably dedicate all their midslots to utility. though, obviously truth be told, i usually use it for pve :P

And in the end if you cba to train for missiles (wich is going to take you a while) the curse will do in gang pvp as well!
