...well, I gotta admit... I'm an attention freak =) But the topic remains true in a way, actually.
Aeons ago (or at least what feels like aeons for me but in reality is a few months only) I played the character Nightfang, a lonesome little pirate in Syndicate who I gotta say has achieved more than he is known of. He singlehandedly invented and spread a courier mission scam which brought about the escrow system, and I like to think he was one of the first to realize the frigates' potential after Castor hit back in last winter. Or well, save for Mercenary Frigates of course...
Anyhow, enough of selfadmiration for one thread already.
So a few months ago (in June if memory serves me right) my personal year from school resulted in me applying for UN service in Liberia. Much has happened since then, especially in the organization of my country's national funding for the military. What I thought was going to be actual humanitarian service on the ground in Africa was to turn into a deskrider administrative position in my home town - at best I was gonna get an assistant's role for semi-on-site inspections, probably not even in Liberia.
Needless to say that is not what I had in mind for the humanitarian phase of my youth, so I decided to go my own way again.
So EVE, my precious little gemstone of spare time entertainment, is once again free for me to use with time to invest! I just wanted to say that it's good to be back - this game truly is the game of games (even though it has an unnerving resemblance to a budding Matrix)! The character Nightfang - with all his skillpoints and assets - may be lost, but experience from this game has taught me ISK and SP is not what matters in this game - what matters is the ability and flexibility of the intellect. It's what I love about this game. It bugs me greatly that I didn't keep Nighty, but I've pleaded to the GM's to try and restore him. Even though that probably won't happen, at least I get to play again.
For how long I stay around, well, that depends on how long it takes for Oveur to fix my soundissues which, despite what Oveur says, is a great hindrance to gameplay experience
Take care for everyone. Now I gotta go do Veldspar mining. I feel like some rich german from the 1950's who has just got to return his "newly acquired" paintings...
Striking analogy, considering my previous carreer.

Welcome back, sry to hear things didn't work out like you thought they would. Enjoy the mining :P Hope something can be done about Nightfang, got my doubts about it, but you should get back to the pirate way ASAP. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Edited by: rocknic2 on 15/09/2004 10:09:05 Ahh Nightfang.
Still in my contacts list. Short period of time in a 3 man corp, shame I never have time to play to follow such ventures through. --------------------------------------------
God obviously meant for me to be a n00b so here I am asking the n00b questions.

I thought you gave Nightfang to your brother or something?
How did Nightfang die?

Actually, I deleted Nightfang. Felt better to do that than to let my bro ruin his reputation by doing good deeds or something like that...
Kind of sucks in retrospect, but what the hay

Well, update for those who care: Nightfang won't be restored, understandably. After having had the initial stress of lost skillpoints fade away, I'm pretty glad he won't. This character has a clean record and good attributes, and the learning skills are just a few days away from completion. Plus I get to be Amarr and roleplay a little. So EVE-universe; here I come again!
By the way, the pirate carreer is over. Seriously.
