So did EBank, which is why he only got away with a pittance.
My EBank account is only 0.01 ISK atm, but I have had upwards of 3 BN in it for extended time periods.

The scam was perfectly legal, it was the RMT (Real money trade) that was not. Basically he either bought or sold (and given it's E-Bank, it's probably Sold) Isk for real money and got banned as a result.

One site (won't name the site here, going to mental-floss my PC after this) has the Isk at $23,15 per billion, so if he got away with 200 billion he could have sold all that for around $4500 or so.

Start posting in the MD forum. After about a year to a year and a half and running a few lucrative IPOs you may get the chance to apply. After which you need perhaps another year to get at the same amount of isk as Ricdic. Good luck

Originally by: Sader Rykane This is the part that struck me, I would have assumed that the Bank founder could have gotten away with a lot more. I toyed with the idea of putting as much as 50% of my isk into EBANK, and although they boasted of their "security measures" I never really believed any of it.
So in a way this might even be a good thing for the bank, because it goes to show that even when the big man strikes they can still move on "business as usual".

So if Ebank a scam yet I could still get my money out? It's not a scam moron its was a theif! If it's a scam the other directors would of ran off with the isk.

Wheels within wheels. Have one obvious frontman nab the loots with his gun out as the other insiders kiss the ground with the rest of the people in the bank. Time passes and then they do it again. Pretty shatty economy out in real life land atm I hear.

I don't trust anyone in this game. People are greedy. Everyone has a price. When I read about EBank and what it does in Eve I knew something like this would happen sooner or latter.
This will not hurt Eve at all. ************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |

Well then thatĘs a sad state when you think no one has morals or Ethics. There is not enough money in the game to make it my price which honestly there isnĘt any.
What you donĘt realize is that at a certain point in ones real world career money becomes secondary and morals along with ethics will always be primary.
Finally the only one who lost in this situation is the people who work at EBANK. No customer has lost a single ISK.

No they are at least 200 billion short on what they should have so if every person who had isk in ebank wanted it they could not give it all out because they are 200 billion short. The trick will be staving off a run so they can have time to recoop the losses somehow. |

How is that possible, when we have built up a reserve of ISK, from all our profit? |

You make it sound like there are an abundance of player driven banks for you to choose from.
E-Bank must take an insane amount of time and effort from those that volunteer to run it for little or no reward and then to be **** on by most of the player base when one of them makes a mistake. |

I'm thinking that if a privately run operation like ebank can absorb a 200 billion isk hit out of its profits then we can safely toss out the 'for little or no reward' part. |

Because there are no real punishments against banks/bank employees in EVE, banks should only be trusted to safely and securely hold onto your hard earned ISK.
Wait a minute. My wallet already does that!
