I know there are lots of guides out there and such, and i've read a lot of them but they never seem to fully answer my questions, which is understandable because blanket answers don't cover specific questions.
What I would like to know is what kinds of logistics and ships are needed to start off in a C1? What is the average startup cost? and lets say i wanted to get a few people together and become a self sufficiant entity, would that be an easy task? (assuming we have the skills to do so)

I would suggest looking to start out in a C2. A decently fit drake can handle sleeper sites in a C2 and they make logistics a lot easier. Also, this guide that is listed about a bakers dozen posts from the top is a great place to start. Homework first, then ask forums specific questions :)

Step 1: Identify, then find the type of WH you want to live in. Many/Most C1's are occupied these days.
Price out the POS setup you plan to use (size, mods, fuel, stront), the ships you plan to use (will you run sites, gas, mine..?), and consider what it would mean to you if you lost all of them.
For logistics, you need something that can carry your tower to start with (and can fit through the hole), a dedicated scanner alt who can scan you back into the hole if you're podded, and the ability to haul loot out and fuel in.
A small group might be better, but make sure you trust them. |

I'll make it very simple for you. Move supplys in, move loot out. Supplys may vary on your needs. If you can build drakes and support ships, then you only need ammo and fuel. If you can build part of you ammo, then all the better. The rest is not difficult, a badger, or whatever you use. Not hard at all, come on! |

There is plenty of information regarding WHs out there and it's easy to find. That said, 99% of the time it ranges from terrible to average. The vast majority of people who are good at WHs will not give you more than very basic info. The reason for this is simple: people don't want to give their PVP targets information that may help them avoid getting killed ;) |

Get started with www.TalocanUnited.com. These should help you get up to speed on a lot of things that are considered "basic knowledge" for wormhole residents. We won't list PVP fits or fleet tactics, but you'll at least find out how to set up a good POS, farm sleepers, and watch for incoming k162s properly. |

C1s are honestly crap. I personally can not see any compelling evidence to suggest you will make more per month than you will by dual boxing level 4 missions to burn for the LP and bounty rewards. You will never be able to get anything larger than a bc or hauler inside. Hulks and retrievers can not fit inside. They have to be brought in the cargohold of haulers or built inside.
My suggestion would be to move into a c2 with a static c3 or static c4. These are good holes for newbies as you will be able to do just about everything you want, not have to worry too much about your mass limitations unless you are bringing in a BUNCH of BS, and the sites are still easy as hell to run with a standard drake or nighthawk fit for the c3 static and passive tank for the c4s.
C2 sites make a decent amount of money and can easily be soloed with a drake.
Most c2s are occupied so you will have to kick someone out. In this case, simply look for a corp that has a medium or small tower as their only towers.
1 large tower can be killed as well but its a pain int he ass and your pilots will likely go play minecraft halfway through the reinforcement process leaving you with 2 or 3 afk geddons pinging away at the tower while you watch star trek deep space nine episodes. (This may or may not have actually happened with a previous corp of mine. And I will neither confirm or deny that I have every single star trek episode on my portable hard drive)
So what you need to do is
1. Find a lightly defended c2 static c3 or c4 hole to move in to. 2. Kick your pilots asses to make them want to move in. 3. Siege the target pos and take down all the guns. ??? 5. Profit. (major emphasis on profit as you will literally be eating, sleeping, drinking, and shitting isk in wormholes) |

C1 sites drop plenty of nano ribbons so there is isk to be made. The annoyance of mass limits on your exit is tempered by the added annoyance to would be invaders. Sure running lvl 4s or incursions are better isk, but only if you are on a lot. |

The fact is. It is equally expensive to start in a c1 as a c4.
C4 are preferable to a c2.
If you could find a C4 with a static c2 you'd have the perfect place to start as a newb. C2's are very dangerous system. |

C2's are NOT dangerous :) I've been jumped twice in a year and a bit. Both in hindsight I could have easily avoided.
If you think C2's are dangerous you may be a bit more suited to empire.. |
